Default A good steak?

We are at the Illa d'or for a week ... March 7th. Dinner is included (Hope the food is O.K. ?) We are planning an anniversary dinner at one of the special restaurants that members have recommended, but I know that by the end of the week - or sooner - , we will be looking to escape the hotel food and craving for a simple flame grilled steak, thick and juicy, of good quality and plenty of it! So.... where should we head?

Thanks Colin

I would head straight for restaurant Siller about a 15/ 20 minute walk from the Illa d'or. Best steak I've ever tasted and you cook it yourself, to your preference, on a very hot stone plate. You will need the bib that is offered!!!

Great fun and wonderful service

Must Agree best steaks in town, The home made wine is good also, my wife thought the bib was so that i would not spill the wine on my shirt.

Also, Corb Mari do great thick juicy steaks. Its only a 10 minute walk from the Illa D'Or, on the Pine Walk. Quite posh, and a little pricey, but nice for an anniversary.

I agree with Sandy, Corb Mari is probably the best place in town for steak, brilliant service too. Although the food at Restaurant Siller is also very impressive, and again , excellent service and general ambience.

However, I'm not sure about Restaurant Siller being "a 15/ 20 minute walk from the Illa d'or". I think it's a little further than that. You're a good 15 minutes from the main roundabout/taxi rank, and then I reckon it's a further 15 minutes from there.

Still, I couldn't think of a more charming place to have a walk of any distance!

Not 15 minutes from the roundabout if you cut through the back streets

Colin,

A very good alternative to Sillers, in my opinion, is the restaurant L'Oliveras on the seafront ( Walk past the Burger King ) on the front line and it's just on your right. Steaks served a la Sillers on a hot plate for personal finishing and nowhere near as pricey . See my earlier posting for more details.

Enjoy

Clivia everytime! They do a fantastic steak. However you ask for it to be cooked, they always get it just right!

Default re A good steak

I would have to say Iru do fantastic steaks - we were in Pollensa in June and September last year (stayed above Iru in Sept) and both times had fantastic meals there. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. A word of warning - dont ask for the wine list unless your feeling flush!

Would head anytime for the Carb Mari, great value, service especially for a 'special' treat - always go there on our last night (funds available of course) you will not be disappointed
