Dos Kanallas formally Tothem

What a fabulous addition to Puerto Pollensa’s restuarant scene. We went some time ago when it was known as Tothem and it specialised in upmarket Tapas and occasional fresh meat and fish. They changed their name last year to Dos Kanallas ( two cheeky boys I understand !!)

We went in for dinner earlier this week and had a fabulous meal of prawns to start and then shared a whole Turbot. Wow!! It was superb and we were well looked after by Danny and his wife Eva. Some may well remember Danny from the days his parents had Tango, Tots and Trio.

The restaurant has been open all winter and Danny says it has been very busy and it’s easy to understand why. Excellent food and other than high season he now offers a Menu del Dia. Not as cheap as some competitors at 20 euro’s but the quality is brilliant and includes wine and water.

If you haven’t tried this restaurant you must BUT beware!! A competitor has set up in the port using the same name which I believe is now the subject of legal action. The Dos Kanallas I am referring to is at the top left hand side of the square just across the road from the Church.

We will be back.

Aparently Danni and a partner originally opened the restaurant, they have since gone their separate ways and it is the ex partner who has opened the other one in what was Patio 49.

Completely agree with Golfaholics

Dos Kanalles by Tothom is located in the corner of the square and a lovely place to eat. We introduced it to some friends whilst over for San Antoni and all 6 of us agreed it was the highlight of our stay. Dani and Eva have created a welcoming, modern yet cozy atmosphere and offer beautifully presented food, well cooked and deliciously flavored. The service is welcoming, knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive ……. I can’t wait to go back in a couple of months. If you haven’t done so already, do try !

"Kanallas" ;)

Agree with all the comments. We had such a great meal in this fabulous restaurant on a very cold winters night a couple of weeks ago.
We never made it in the summer for some reason apart from a quick pit stop after a wine tasting at Bodegas Pollensa. We stumbled there with its cd for a coffee and dessert to soak up the vino before staggering home :D

The food and presentation is wonderful and the welcome by Dani and his team is friendly and very professional.

Can’t wait to go again!

Just wondered if anyone had yet tried the 'other' Dos Kanallas in the Formentor Road? Is the menu and pricing similar?

We tried Dos Kanallas 2 over the Christmas/New year period. We thought there was a very nice, cosy atmosphere in there. Its not very busy whenever we pass by and it wasn't when we were there either. That meant service was attentive and fast. One of the waitresses from the other place is there too. Small menu with similar dishes to Dos Kanallas 1 aka Tothom. This is not a surprise though as it is the chef from there.
We're vegetarian so always limited choice for us but we enjoyed what they cooked for us (a particularly tasty starter) and imagine the meat or fish dishes will be even tastier.
I hope the argument between DK1 & DK2 doesn't have an impact as I think there is room for both in Port, but DK2 being slightly more out of the way may make a difference.
I would recommend giving it a go :)

Agree with all comments about Dos Kanallas by Totham. Went for first time last night - I’m glad we’d booked as it was full. Had whole turbot for the 2 of us - delicious! Crème brûlée, wind and coffees. Great restaurant with good service. We will return!
