So sad not to be coming out in two weeks time. Have moved our 'deposit' to last 2 weeks September, but...?
Lyn, if it is gout, take plenty of fluids (ideally water!!) and go for white meat rather than red. Also, cherries help. Had a bad bout over Christmas that lasted far longer than any previous one. Doc mentioned Allopurinol to me but I decided on a concerted effort to up my water intake - 5 pints a day and change eating habits - so far so good! Stay safe you two, and thanks again for all the hard work you do to keep us lot informed!

Thank you all for your kind messages, the pain is easing and the ice packs are helping to get the swelling down .

To be honest i am not too bothered about not going out, after 8 weeks lockdown a few more days won't matter. Also i think by the weekend things will have quietened down here and places won't be so busy, so maybe it's for the best .

This May already off. Booked for September, fingers crossed. Have not put my budgie smugglers back in the loft yet!
Looking forward we have booked for May and September 2021.
All keep well

So after 61 days and still limping i finally made it to my favourite bar last night . It was their first day so they were on a learning curve but it all went smoothly, drinking inside is not allowed and only 50% of the outside area is open. Oh! it was so good to see familiar faces and be able to chat, everyone was following the rules and were happy to be able to get out for a couple of hours .

Yesterday was Stay restaurant 's first time of opening for over nine weeks and it was great to see so many people enjoying the food, drink and service.

They are very well organised - nicely spaced tables, everything wiped down after use and all the staff wearing the appropriate protective gear.

As far as i am aware it's going quite smoothly, Formentera will move to phase 2 on Monday 18th May and hopefully the rest of the islands will join them on the 25th.

The accumulated figures for the Balearics as a whole are :-

Contagions: 1982
Died: 216
Cured: 1519.

At present in Mallorca there are 149 people hospitalized, of which 24 are in ICU. In addition, 96 people receive care from the coronavirus care units (UVAC), although not all have confirmed cases with PCR.

Glad you had a great time Sparky, I can only imagine the party you must have all had, wish I could’ve been there, I bet there are a few sore heads around the port today, hope you all stay safe and enjoy your well deserved freedom

To be honest it wasn't a party at all, just a few regulars having the usual drinks. It was all very relaxed, everyone was smiling and happy to see each other but without the usual hugs and kisses, i didn't see any physical contact apart from the occasional elbow or foot tap .

The problem is that most of the locals just don't have the money to go out and i suspect some may be allowed to run up a tab. Everyone is concerned about the future .

Looks from the webcam as though the tables and chairs are coming out at the Tamarells Beach Bar

There has been a bit of a flurry of activity in the port today. Not only Tamarells, but also Joker, Amazo (opens tomorrow )and Can Pescador are busily being cleaned and prepared for business.
