Default Traditional Tapas Bar

I am back in Puerto de Pollensa next week and, with my daughter & family who arrive before me, we will be eating together in our usual favourite restaurants.
However, on the evening I arrive it will be quite late so I want to throw my luggage into the hotel and stroll to a "proper" traditional tapas bar - not a modern franchise or fancy place - just a place where I can (like I used to do when I lived in Valencia) sit at the counter and choose whatever I fancy from the displays in front of me, hopefully with a glass or two of tinto from a barrel at the back of the bar.
I have seen information/web links detailing various "tapas" bars/restaurants but nothing seems to fit my specification.
Does such a place exist? Information please.

Since the demise of the Thursday Tapas Route, the closure of Rumbo and the change ownership of Neptuno, I think you'll have a problem!

Hopefully others, those that know the back street bars better than I, may know!

There is not really anywhere in PP like Valencia and Northern Spain as you describe. I drive through Spain to Mallorca every year and love this laid back way of eating. Rustic and Bodeguita do great tapas, if you're not bothered about a view, but apart from 'Tapas' Thursday they won't be lined up on the bar.

Norai on the front opposite the Marina maybe you're best bet.

Bodeguita would be a good choice for good drinks and good value. For a livelier place with music too head to Norai. Hope you have s great night and holiday.

The best "real traditional tapa restaurant" in the island is Casa Gallega: two locations in Palma de Mallorca and one in Alcudia.

Not in Pp but tapas arranged on the counter can be found at Hostal La Fonda in Alcudia old town. Superb and plenty. This is not much good for your arrival but please visit during your stay. You will not be disappointed, I guarantee.

Thanks Tommo. Thought I would be disappointed but will take a look at La Fonda when we go to Alcudia.

Thanks Bekki. I had a beer at La Bodeguita a while ago and it looks like it might be the best choice for when I arrive.

Thanks JPALCOVER. I've seen Casa Gallega in Puerto d'Alcudia but not been to eat there. Bit "restauranty" for my first night though. There used to be a small traditional place in the port on one of the roads running down from the car park - twenty odd years since I was taken there so I guess it's gone now.

Thanks debz1. Good suggestions. Don't know Rustic but looks OK. Might wander to La Bodeguita then up to Rustic when I arrive. Norai? Always saw this as more of a snack bar but never been in (for that reason).

Quite some tome ago, on this Forum, mention was made of the possibility of Neptuno returning to Puerto Pollensa.

Have there been any developments since? Or will it not now be happening?
