Default Bar Katy

Just heard that the old lady that owned and worked in Bar Katy has passed away.
Apparently she has no family to pass the business on to.
Not sure what will happen to Bar Katy and the apartments.

Bar Katy, like the coach House before it was an institution in PP

Whether you liked it or not, it was part of what made PP unique

Lets hope whatever replaces it is "fitting"

We remember the Coach House well, when we first started going to PP in 1976 we would enjoy our meal and watch the sun go down. Happy memories.

We too, have great memories of the Coach House, the perfect place for a long liquid lunch with spectacular views. Ever since it became a pizza joint, it just doesn't have the same effect.

Katy's is a strange one, you can go back years, and it never seemed to be quite right, almost as though the staff/owners weren't particuarly bothered if they had customers or not. Compared to the Coach House just a couple of dors down, it always appeared a little tired and run down. Great shame, because with a location like that it has tremendous potential and should be heaving, especially in the summer.

Maybe the grumpy chap who loved to shout at the kids for coming in straight from the sea will take over,I used to send mine in wringing wet just to hear him

BL,

Will you please let us know if and when it does open - hoping it will be for my visit in May - nice little place to stop even just for a drink on our way back to the apartment! Looks like nice weather you are having at the moment - hope it keeps up!!

Favie,

After a mixed morning of cloud and sun, this afternoon has been absolutely fabulous. First day of the summer hours and the square was packed to the gunnels 5 to 6 p.m. Nearly standing room only outside at the Cultural . Families all having a great time.

Hopefully after a disappointing Easter the weather has finally turned.

Still, looked pretty sunny in the UK on the news tonight ??

I hope so too. It's a favourite spot of mine for a cold drink on the way home from a hard day on the beach or occassionally a nightcap. Not the most comfortable furniture but it's hard to beat for location.

BonysLadenEspan, please keep us informed. Thanks.

Joanne,

Don't think you'll see anything this year. Still locked up. Be very surprised if any activity before 2009.
