The restaurant at the Hotel Romantic has been re-branded, it is now called "U 1969" .

"Don't tell them your name Pike" is a quote from the TV series 'Dad's Army'.

1969 is the year that the hotel chain was founded.

Am I the only person who is not entirely comfortable with the idea of an adults-only hotel like this one?

Yes I did recognise the Dad's Army quote but I still think it's an odd name for an hotel - it doesnt exactly roll off the tongue does it? But probably I'm missing the point

I don't think it's wrong for it to be adult only, there are no facilities for children to enjoy there so it makes sense to me .

I agree sparky. There are plenty of child friendly hotels in the Port and I have to say if I was staying in a hotel it would be my preference for it to be adults only, now my 'babies' are all grown up

I don't have too much of a problem with the children. Its the parents inability to bring them up to act in a civilised way that annoys me.

In some cases the kids are better behaved than the adults .

I'm ambivalent where adults-only hotels are concerned.... I don't think I'd personally go to one -one of the reasons I like Mallorcan culture is the fact that it's inclusive of all generations from very young to very old - but having said that we stayed at one hotel in the UK when our own children were small and it resembled a kindergarten - the noise levels around the pool alone drove me crazy. And some people have very good reasons for not wanting to be around children during their precious free time.....I think there's room for adults-only alongside family-friendly.

Quite right Madam " S".

They wouldn't let me stay there and I'm knocking on the door of 70.

I'm grateful that the Spanish welcome us British and I embrace their whole family culture. When it comes to "exclusive", where do you draw the line? No children? No non-whites? No Scottish? That's not the way I roll.
