debz1 - have just looked up 'gawp' in the OED and maybe that was a bit harsh. Perhaps 'studying' might have been more appropriate (I know I always look at what people are eating when I walk past there, or anywhere for that matter - probably very rude). Sorry..

I love Little Italy but let me give you another strong contender

Mediteranae which is near Euphoria

Doesn’t have the view but they do taste good and on a Sunday you also get Derek and Guillermo

Manduca every time. Another great one priced out by high rent. The current bar there does a very good Sangria though but that is a different subject........

Having read recommendations for Portofino took family last night. Extremely disappointed with quality of pizzas and particularly with the service. Early eaters and only us and 2 other tables in beautiful courtyard but still took 20 minutes to get a drink. As evening progressed and they got busier we twice asked for extra water and it never appeared- but was on bill! Once amended bill received it took 30 minutes to actually pay. Could not recommend. Laroc's on the other hand was excellent a few nights ago.

Busy tasting around the port and town, so far portofino is in front, fantastic pizza with lots of different mushrooms, truffle oil and Parmesan, ahead of Trecadra, which was still good on a busy wet Sunday, so maybe try Casa Vila next!

Ate at Portofino for the first time week last Saturday having previously always had takeaways from Laroc and Little Italy as we stay nearby, we were in the courtyard which we found lovely, overall we were very impressed, I'm a sucker for a wood fired pizza! Nice, thin crispy base, good flavours and great service, prompt and attentive throughout. As they are wood fired I'd place them first, but always happy to go to either of the other two.
