Default El Meson restaurant.....

Evening all.
I am sure I read somewhere thart El Meson has been closed for a number of months. The last review on Tripadvisor was around 7 months ago.
Is anyone able to update me as we loved this restaurant and in our opinion provoded the best tapas around despite the location.
Many thanks.
Martin

To modify a Mr Spock saying, It's PP Jim, but not as we know it.

Still look on the bright side. Over the decades I've seen some great places killed off, but they still have not managed to kill off the spirit of PP.

Sorry to bump the thread, but anyone know if the owners or staff have rocked up elsewhere ( particularly the lady that appeared to manage the place )?

Default Brasa y vino Restaurant

Brasa y Vino restaurant appears to have taken over the premises formerly known as El Meson.
From the few photos on Facebook, the new owners appear to have installed a big charcoal grill and going by the name, they must be serving wine too!

I thought it was Portofino that were opening it. I heard one of the waitresses tell a customer a few weeks back.

The owners of Portofino are the financial backers for Brasa y Vino and one of their staff is managing the new venture. The chefs are South American and they are specialising in grilled meat over an open fire. The opening night was on Monday and friends who attended were impressed (but then of course everything was free!).

That sounds great! We certainly love Portofino - both versions - hope this new venture does really well too.

May be an idea to ask for a table close to a fire extinguisher....
