Couldnt agree more! I remember after a long walk one night, desperate for a drink we called in Tolo's. You'd think I'd booted their cat into the sea when we just asked for a drink! Thankfully I've been back for food since, and it didnt dissapoint.
As you say though, I love the variety that PP has. I mean, I love sitting in cappuccino at sis pins or miramar, but I'm not sure how long my travelcard of euros would last!!

The very thought of you booting their cat into the sea has made me come over all queasy.
In fact I must say I'm not Feline very well.
I'll get my coat .

Pocket Buddy, That would be some kick from Bonys. Two points at least. Do you have a Scottish Granny??? (Rugby Quote).
Just a simple point, Jose is getting a few hundred/thousand euros of publicity from this site alone, and he deserves it as one of the best commercial promoters and service suppliers on the PP scene.

word to the wise - I made the mistake of searching for "Scottish Granny". Don't do it.

Think I forgot to add a disclaimer to my post..... No cats were harmed in the writing of this post or on my visit to Pollensa! Haha
Technically I was only metaphorically kicking the cat from Tolos, so not sure how many points thats worth!

Puzzled about Bonys
Can anyone tell me why Bonys has been so popular over the years and why he gets the reaction he does on this site?
I passed the bar a couple of weeks ago, early evening when he was closed and there was laminated notices on the tables instructing possible customers, such as me?? that the table was for 2 or three people or some for 4 only.
What about me, as a couple, were I not welcome?was my order not good or big enough?
Am I missing something? he has certainly lasted the course, he's been there the majority of my 30 years of visiting.
But I've never understood the popularity of the bar. I've seen children upset and hurt in the scramble that followed his sweet throwing antics!!
Maybe its me I'm getting old but I just dont get it!!

20 odd years ago when the girls were roughly 12ish we all loved Jose and Bony's for the 'antics' and his unusual ways! The local kids all played footie in the square- mine joined in. No language barriers. It was a really fun holiday atmosphere nothing like you find in England. Fast forward to when my girls were in there upper teens we all loved Bonys as they were treated like adults and sampled their first alcohol there! The waiters made a great show of pouring 'large' drinks at very reasonable prices and the girls loved it. Now they are in their 30s the novelty has worn off! Visiting 2 weeks ago I have to say it is not the same place. Perhaps because its not height of season. But it was still nice to watch the people in the square. Sad though that footie for the kids has been replaced by electric cars!!

Yebbut, it's always fun to see just how diverse members' options are.
I like Bony's but can see that others would not.
Then again, there are some places in PP that I'm sure I'll never go to again. I even avoid passing them.
Others, I'd happily go every night (if I was allowed to)
Just imagine if PP lacked variety ...

Well I have to say I love Bony’s.... Same as others when the children were younger they loved it when Jose threw the sweets and then their first cocktails on holiday... Now it’s mostly my husband and I we still love to sit there and watch the world go by - Jose is a lovely man as are his lovely staff who always give a warm welcome. Yes I understand it is not for everyone but for a bar to be popular for so long and to survive many economic climates it has to have a point of difference, which it certainly has.... I hope it survives for many more years
