Restaurants in CSV
Hi there back soon in CSV a four year gap.
Can anyone update on what restauranrs are open, I have heard that both Mosesto and L'Alba have closed ? |
Modesto has moved to larger premises opposite their old site, same owners. Very good for meat lovers, however, it is more expensive than other local restaurants. I had a good meal at Poli. Poli has mixed reviews on TripAdvisor, but I can assure their pizzas were huge, home-baked and delicious, not supermarket standards, as suggested on T/A. Bar Mallorca do lovely Pa amb oli sobrasada with brie, I highly recommend that dish. Chips are good at Marinas, home-made and chunky cut and homemade lemon meringue pie was lush! Have a browse on TripAdvisor for more info. Enjoy!

We have had some lovely lunches in the past at the restaurant halfway up the steps - think it is Ca'l Patro? - it specialises in seafood. Am pretty sure it is still there - like you, have not been to CSV for a while, at least not to eat.

Yes, it's still there. I'll also add that to my list to try. Thanks :)

Modesto is excellent and well worth a visit. In short, it's simple food, cooked with love, and served with personality. It's a grill, so specialises in meat, but also serves fine fish and vegetarian dishes.
Bar Mallorca is great for lunch, and worth the wait on the occasions when the service is slow. The menu is wide and varied. Cal Patro on the steps is best for seafood, but beware the price of fish that is not listed on the menu - it's on the dear side. Cala Barques has an outstanding view but ordinary food, and the waiting staff seem disinterested. It's also overpriced in our experience. Pizzeria Poli serves average (but perfectly acceptable) pizzas, and has a large crowd on a Saturday when it dishes out suckling pig. Bar Marinas looks a dive from the outside, and the owner has a reputation for being miserable, but it seems to meet the needs of those on a tighter budget. We've never been to Pepe's or La Tasca but they look OK and seem popular. |
Bar Marinas
We love Bar Marinas! It has fantastic views, the food is plentiful and fresh and we have always found the staff polite and helpful. We love the beer just before we set off back across the mountains to PP. For a family it is also not expensive. We have also been there in February and it was equally lovely.:)
