Boquerones?

Morning
Finally in the same month as date of holiday!
Please can anyone recommend somewhere that serves tapas boquerones - either battered or in vinegar?
I have been reading about chilled mazanilla, almonds and boquerones - and it sounds (tastes?) divine!
I can almost smell the PP sunshine already ....... :-)

The best boquerones (whitebait) I have found is at La Cantina La Lllonja. I think they also sometimes referred to as pescaditos although both names also sem to be applied to anchovies as well. Perhaps someone else can clarify this.

Now I know I'm getting on a bit and the old brains not what it was, but I understood Boquerones to be anchovies salted in oil, vinegar and garlic. Unless of course someone can correct me  The fried version are whitebait.

I've never seen any reference to the marinated ones being whitebait, but either way I love em. I eat them a lot back here in Blighty (marinated Not fried)

AFAIK Boquerones are Marinated White Anchovies. They can be eaten raw or fried.

I have seen Boquerones translated on menus as both whitebait and anchovies.

Beware as I think many restaurants serve frozen ones:eek:

I also agree with GG that La Cantina La Lllonja's are great and also Brisas Marina.
Yumm!
