Thumbs up Best 5 Restaurants in PP 2017

Believe it or not it's time again to start this years thread off . Rules are the same as always as follows:

1. You must have been to the restaurants you are voting for this year (2017).

2. You must vote on a maximum of 5 restaurants ONLY that are within PP.

3. Vote from 1st being the best & so on to 5th, NO joint decisions please just 1st to 5th, though you can vote for less than 5 if you like.

4. Points awarded are 5 points for first, 4 points for second, 3 points for third, 2 points for fourth & 1 point for fifth.

5. We all like restaurants for very different reasons i.e food, location, atmosphere, service etc. so please vote as you will, but keep to the rules above as to avoid confusion & watch as the voting unfolds over the coming months this year.

Default Our top 5

After our annual visit here are our top 5
1 La Balada del Agua del Mar - the prettiest restaurant on the Pine Walk, this was the highlight of our trip this year, the warmest welcome from the lovely owners and the fresh home cooked food means we will not overlook it again as we have done for years!
2 Can Cuarassa - first time here, lovely service and food , excellent value even with the taxi cost.
3 Can Ferra - had the best Paella here, so moist, some can be dry, unbelievable value at only 10.50 euros.
4 Iru - excellent service and food as always and a great spot to eat.
5 Marina Brasserie - something a bit different, really nice food and good service.

I've noticed that there seem to be less restaurant reviews posted as well. I think people have lost interest in sharing their views on their meals. Maybe not a bad thing - unless you get exceptional food or service somewhere, are others really interested? Or the opposite - in which case people probably would be!

Ruby we hadn't been to Iru for years but went in June twice and had forgotten how good it is...plus a great place to watch the world go by 😊

Hi debz1
yes it is a lovely spot and has always remained one of our favourites, great quality of food, we have stayed in the apartments in the past and Carlos is a lovely chap too.

Another wonderful holiday in PP. Once again the restaurants never fail to delight – some old favourites and a new rising star.

Our top 5 this year are:

1. Los Faroles – occasionally mentioned but this year our favourite, wonderful dishes, friendly professional service and excellent wines.
2. Centric – delicious food with a twist, attention to detail and always well presented.
3. El Posito – true Mallorcan cooking at its best. Toni and his team are always welcoming.
4. IRU – this is one of our long standing favourites; the location, food and service are second to none. Carlos always makes us so welcome.
5. Cellar La Parra – been going there for years and now have to book!! Fun and professional service, wood fired oven gives the dishes a sensational taste and of course the Jarra de la Casa –great value.

Special mentions for Nicos – always our first stop and No.31 Restaurant and Bar.

Our top five are;
Los Zorzales (went twice and had suckling pig both times it was so good)
Ca'n Ferra (found it by accident and went twice because we liked it so much)
Na Ruixa (it was so busy we had to book 4 days ahead)
Ca'n Panxo Tapas (formerly Neptuno, food just as good but lost a wee bit atmosphere)
Hotel Daina (buffet has something for everyone)

Our top five are as follows after.much consideration

1st place - La Llonja - sat upstairs on the roof top overlooking the bay with good friends, good food and good wine. What more could you ask for
2nd place - Bahia on Voramar - Beautiful food in a wonderful setting. Service impeccable.
3rd place - Velomar - Hadn't been for a couple of years and food delicious. Lamb in local herbs and honey to die for.
4th place - Iru - again hadn't been for a couple of years
Food delicious and service back to high levels.
5th place - Pascalinos - 13 family members were served quickly and with good humour. Not an easy crowd as all want different things and cooked a certain way. Well done as we had a great night there. Sizzling beef in oyster sauce was particularly good.

Default My top Five

1. El Posito. Went twice . Wine prices in here as really good as well.
2. Stay ( maybe even better than before and we have been going for over 20 years )
3. La Lonja
4. No 31 . Went once and would have gone back but not too much on the fish choice .However starter of clams and serano ham excellent.
5.Centric

ate out every night and did have a couple of not so good meals but as this is a report on top 5 I will leave it there.

Hopefully back next year if we can manage to get an apartment and no more price increases on tourist tax sunbeds etc. With the pound so poor against the euro this will be a factor .
