Default April 2017

Hi all, my wife and i are planning on a wee visit to PP in April 2017.
School holidays are 7th April -24th. Couple of Qs....are most establishments open then?
Should we leave it until the second week?
Is the weather pleasant at that time?
Thanks for your help.
Kendo

Most places are open by 1st April or Easter if it falls earlier. The weather can be a bit iffy and you might need a light jacket/sweater in the evenings .

Hi, Kendo, if you can be bothered, you can check the April PP weather for past years via Sparky's daily posts on this forum.

Just go to Search and enter in "weather now in Puerto Pollensa 2nd quarter" and the threads should come up.

Have been in April for the last 3 years and we have been lucky with the weather. Mostly sunny during the day but definitely a bit cooler in the evenings. Most nights though a light cardi was enough. I think at that time it's just down to luck which week you choose. Hope you make the right choice

Kendo, we are always out over Easter during school holidays as we have to open our villa up for the rental season. We have found the vast majority of the restaurants to be open, though some of the hotels do not open until the beginning of April if Easter comes early, and some of the shops in the Port do not seem to open until late April or early May. We've had good weather, bad weather and on a couple of occasions terrible storms - in the last few years, as ragdollabbi says, it's been really pleasant. If eating out in the evening we tend to either eat indoors or choose somewhere (Stay for example) which has really powerful outdoor heaters. Some places - Marina Brasserie is one - have rugs for your legs! You will definitely need a coat, just in case, and I find it helpful to bring boots as it always seems to be my feet which get cold. As always with the weather there are no guarantees. The Pollensa area is lovely in Spring though, whatever the weather - the wild flowers in the fields are just stunning, and everything is so green and fresh. I love to see the beaches without the sunbeds and the crowds too - though you will probably find the sea too cold to swim in....
