Default Curry

Evening all again, the pizza question prompted some fantastic responses and information, so thank you all, but where do people rate the curry from these days in PP?

We used to get a take away at least once during our holiday from Mirch Masalla, but who is top of the tikka charts these days?!

I'd definitely say Mirch although the new one next to Marina, which only opened this year, has had good reviews. Also nicer location than MM ..
Himalya something?

Himalaya Indian Nepalese Restaurant - although when I looked at their menu I can't say I noticed any obvious Nepalese dishes

Default Beware bottle of house wine !

I have never been impressed with any curries I have had in Puerto Pollensa. Last night visited the new one to the port the Himalayan. It was busy with most tables full and a quick turn around when people left. The staff seemed efficient. I had the chicken madras and my Husband the vindaloo, we both like very spicy curries !!. We shared a rice and a nan, the nan was ok but nothing like what we are used to in the U.K. It was good and if it wasnt for the wine fiasco I would have went back. We ordered a bottle of vino tinto de la Casa, it was opened before arrival at the table, I was asked to taste, it seemed ok , not great. We started to drink it then my Husband realised the bottle was quite old and stained looking, we asked the waiter and he said he would speak to the manager, who then totally ignored us. My Husband asked him over to the table, he was very rude said all the wine was fresh and refused to take it off the bill. Be warned ask for it to be opened at the table!!

We went to Himalaya for the first time last night and had a very nice meal. The manager apologised for keeping us waiting (only 10 minutes) but it was obvious that they had not expected it to be so busy (it was almost full at just after 9pm) and there were only 2 working front of house.

We had poppadums and onion bajis to start, followed by 2 Himalaya specials and 1 special rice to share, all was well cooked and presented, apart from the initial wait the service was friendly and efficient. The only downside was the wine, we always go for the house white on a first visit to a restaurant and it's usually very good but although this one was drinkable i would not order it again and would happily pay a couple of euros more for something better. The bill came to 45€ which was really good value for money .

I love my Curries but the main problem to me is that not one of the houses in PP has a Tandoori oven. I have asked all of them !

I walked past at around 8 and it was empty. So we went for a Chinese instead.

Was that because it was empty or because you were not impressed the first time you went .

Good question. This time because it was empty.
