Default Bonys

The council have now further limited the number of tables and the area outside this popular bar.
I am totally lost for words. Are they really trying to close Puerto Pollensa for all tourists ?

Yes the council are making many bars and restaurants reduce the number of tables on terraces. I have been told that they are only allowed no more than 50% of the tables in their internal space on the terrace, so as Bony's has very little inside seating it is being affected more than others .

well,on the same theme but a different location, in Pollenca Placa Major ,the tables at Juma,Ocho and Cafe Iilya and pushed out into the square a 4 or 5 meters! this year.I know we all like to sit and eat/drink and watch the world go by,thats part of enjoying Poll and PP but a happy medium must be reached.
Just an opinion!

Let's see what else we can do to reduce tourism in PP.
Aah, reduce the amount of tables and chairs at a popular bar, that still has loads of space for passers -by, thereby reducing revenue taken by the proprietor, thereby reducing taxes paid into the ports coffers to spend!
Where do they get these councillors, or whatever they're called, from?!

We went to Bonys one night last week and were surprised by the lack of tables. The waitress said it was because of the new council rules, but then she said it would be sorted out soon. Sure enough, the next night there seemed to be the normal amount back out again. Not sure if common sense prevailed, or they just decided to risk it. In my opinion there was still plenty of space for people to walk past, it's absolutely bonkers.

Walked through the Square lunchtime today, (Market Day) and Bony's was absolutely rammed, full to capacity, so I suspect he's overcome that problem, at least I sincerely hope so.

Rammed but has he got all his tables and chairs back though?
With the paltry amount of tables and chairs he had out last week he'd be rammed with a dozen people!

Yes, from what I saw, all the tables were back out as per normal, at least 3 rows in the front facing the square, and 2 more along the side opposite the Tex Mex.

It was the same last night, I think he's starting off each session with a much smaller amount of tables, and they gradually increase as it gets busier.

Good luck to him.

I'm sure it's 4 rows deep from the back wall to the square usually?
I know he went from 2 rows deep to 3 but I'm sure there's more to go!

If there's one man who'll take on the muppets at the ajuntament it's Jose!

Here is an update from the organiser of the petition :-

Quote:
9 JUN 2016 — The council have agreed on Bar Bonys being allowed 35 tables, a big improvement on the 15 that were allowed the last couple of weeks.
A great big Gracias from Jose, all his staff and me, for signing this petition and leaving such lovely comments. I will translate and pass them all on for the team.

Common sense prevails. Not the words that you would expect when it comes to the Ajuntamente.
One more week.......
