Default Cal Patro

I never seem to see Cal Patro mentioned much. Maybe because it is in Cala San Vincente?

For fish it is unbeatable, as the restaurant has an arrangement with it's own fishing boat. It is extremely popular though, bookings need to be a week in advance at this time of year.

It doesn't open until 8 pm, and we booked a table for 8.30 last Saturday. We were the only ones there until 10 pm. when the restaurant filled up. You guessed it - it is mostly Spanish customers and which tells you everything.

We also sampled one of the best Spanish white wines we have tasted - see my post in the wines section

I have been to Cal Patro but sadly not for at least five years now (we rarely visit CSV) - I agree that it is a fantastic fish restaurant. In fact, so fantastic must it be that I do in fact remember what we had to eat - calamari to start followed by an historic paella - that meal has stayed in my memory for all the right reasons! Lovely setting too.

This restaurant was always good but has improved a lot recently. Although we loved the fish there, everything was served with Tumbet of which I am not a great fan. Now there is a choice of salad, vegetables and chips as well as the tumbet. The desserts have also improved considerably.

Still the same owners, Carlos and Margarite But as I mentioned in my previous email, booking is essential.
