Default Old Town restaurants that are worth the trip?

Morning all

Never made it to the Old town last time , Might have a wander in August for a change of scenery.

Any recommendations would be great for lunch / evening.
(Bit of a silly question , What is the easiest way to get there , have not had a look as of yet )

thanks
Sean

Hi - there are lots of buses which go from the roundabout in the Port to the old town (not sure about times etc though, but there is a section on this forum with timetables). It's a beautiful place to wander around - a lovely main square, where you can sit with a coffee or beer and soak up the atmosphere, and of course the Calvario if you're feeling energetic. Just walking through the maze of narrow old streets is a real treat and there are loads of little cafes and bars for refreshment en route. On Sunday mornings the food market in the square is well worth a visit - followed by a leisurely lunch of course. I'd recommend Es Moli (closer to the Roman bridge), Il Trencadora, Spira - very good food at all of these. Personally I prefer the old town to the Port as it has more of a 'traditional' Mallorcan feel - but even if you're a beach person, it makes a good day out.

The Old Town is well worth a visit - Sunday is market day so maybe best to avoid (particularly, if you've already visited the market in the port as the stalls are pretty much the same). As Kate1 said there are buses leaving from the roundabout in the port and a single adult ticket is €1.50. Small word of warning - we've never had a problem getting the bus to the old town ..... but we've often had problems coming back (buses not turning/ turning up late or not stopping because they're full).
Taxi back to the port will be around €10 if my memory serves me correctly.

There's always loads of taxis at the taxi rank in the old town, so no worries about getting one.

Hello,
We went to Catonet in the Old Town a couple of days ago & the Half Lobster
& spaghetti at 22 euro was delicious. We sat in the courtyard at the rear of the restaurant & there are tables inside. Cantonet is passed the Font del Gal restaurant on the left we will be returning to this little Gem as all the staff were
very friendly while being busy serving other tables.
