Default Casa Vila Sunday Lunch

Well this takes some beating... 3 courses plus unlimited bottles of wine for 15€

There is a choice of 3 starters and, because I'm too busy yacking to take notes, I can only remember the one which I had.. an aubergine and parmesan pasta bake, which was a meal in itself and delicious. Two mains, suckling pig or roast beef and a homemade 3 layered chocolate cake for dessert.

Oh and er 3 bottles of wine

Done deal

Debz1, that sounds too good to be true!!!

How many bottles of wine do you reckon they would have brought, if you had stayed longer???

Seriously though, must give it a try when I'm there. Thanks for the tip.

Be aware that the menu does not offer unlimited wine, the amount on offer depends on whether you order 1,2 or 3 courses.

Hang on, the offer is set meal 3 course 15€ what's it got to do with how many courses you order or does it work in reverse if you only order one course 3 bottles two course 2 bottles 3 course 1 bottle. Just asking.

They offer onw two or three courses. The one course comes with a glass of wine, 2 courses with 1/3 or 1/2 bottle I think and the 3 course I'm not sure but 1 bottle I think.

Ok I think I've got it now

The trouble is when you don't pay attention things can get lost in translation, and I was obviously not paying attention on Sunday

The Sunday set menu is 15.95€ ( I thought it was 15) so my first mistake! When we sat down there was a bottle of red on the table which we were told was for us. The waiter told us that when we'd finished just to ask for another one. I think the deal is a bottle of wine per couple, and as there was 4 of us we got a second bottle.

In retrospect I think we paid for the third bottle but as the men didn't keep the bill I can't check. In total we paid 60€ per couple which included the tip. Two glasses of wine and two beers were also included in the price, so it was still very good value

Note to self ...Attention to detail next time

I was just thinking Sparky.

If you went there, you would only need to order a stick of celery to get your usual half full glass of wine!! Ha-Ha!!
