Tango has closed.
I have just received confirmation that Tango has closed permanently, Manolo has retired and the restaurant is up for sale.

Afraid not Tangoman. I also have heard this. I don't think Marcus (son) wanted to take it on.

Friday the 13th isn't before tomorrow!
Shocker in the evening...
Wishing Manolo all the best for his retirement.
He'll be sorely missed.
As will Tango's the way he ran it.
Hope he'll always have a cheerful whistle on his lips.

Well what am I going to do now???
I mean, " El Posito Man" doesn't have the same ring to it, does it?
Or maybe "Tapas Tree Man"!! No, maybe not.
I will need to give this some serious thought. Hmmmm .................

What sad news. Tango has always been on our list of places to eat. Manolo and his excellent staff ensure we felt each visit was 'special'.
I've fallen back on YouTube to find a reminder for all who have visited Tango over the years.

Enjoy your retirement, Manolo! Pip Pip

More proof that to continue running a business that only makes money during 4 or 5 months a year is nowadays extremely diificult in todays economic climate.
The spanish government is trying it´s damnest to throttle small businesses with taxes, regulations and making hiring and firing staff expensive and difficult.
The social charges have gone through the roof and sometimes it´s just not worth the bother.
Let´s hope someone else takes it over, although I honestly can´t see it happening anytime soon.
If it is, it will be probably be by a chain who won´t mind closing during the low season.

Sparky, retiring hides a multitude of sins.
The current law allows a business owner to collect his pension whilst running his business at the same time.
Also he won´t get as nearly as much money for it closed as he would if it were a going concern.

All i know is what a family member told me and that is, Manolo has decided it's time to retire which is quite normal for a man of his age and that he is selling the building.

I do hope that his son stays in the Hospitality business locally - he, too, just like his dad, has always provided great service.
