Default A new restaurant in PP.

Several years after "La Roca" closed it has finally been leased to someone new, a lot of work is being done both inside and out and it looks like it will be opening fairly soon. I don't have any more facts yet but someone said they thought it was going to be a trattoria , i will keep you posted .

No, it's in C/ Vicenc Buades not far from the HiperCentro supermarket.

Last resident was Juan, of Bonanca Bar fame. They struggled for business being set quite far back of the "beaten tracks" unfortunately. It's quite a sizeable place too, with a nice wee terrace area at the rear. Hope it succeeds.

We had a lovely meal at La Roca a couple years ago and as it was so quiet we were treated to a private Spanish music recital by the owner and some of his staff - they were due to play later in the evening but as we couldnt stay, they gave us our own personal concert at our table

We called in last night and it was busy as you would expect.
For the first night they only served a selection of tapas and we had Frito Mallorquin, Albondigas with Sepia (different but very good), Beef Estofado and Russian Salad, all dishes were excellent, the owner and staff (all South Americans) were very friendly. With 3 glasses of wine the bill was under 6€ , today they are just serving a MDD but will have a proper menu from tomorrow.....will keep you posted on that .

Hi Sparky, Just to make sure I have read that right. You had 4 tapas dishes and 3 glasses of wine and the bill was under 6 euros. Well if that's the case, I'd better get in there quick before they go broke.

Yes you read it right but it was the opening night so the tapas were free. I saw the tapas menu last night and they range for half ration from 2.50€-3.50€ and the full rations are all around 5€.
MDD yesterday was 12€ for 3 courses including a drink, bread, olives and alioli, we had paella followed by steak in mushroom sauce, huge portions of paella meant we did not manage a dessert, with 4 more vinos the bill came to 35€.
I know it's early days but so far we are both very impressed with Casanova, it is very brave to open a new bar/restaurant not only in the winter but also off the beaten track, i wish them well .

Ahh, All is now clear. Still, the prices you quote still sound very good. Now don't laugh, but I am reading what you had yesterday and my mouth is watering, even though it's 7.50am here. How sad is that, and even sadder, I could eat it.
