I am sure a garden dining area would be a real winner, there is nothing nicer than eating outside on a balmy summer evening .

Yes, they intend to make it safe for children first, as at the moment there is a gate leading onto the side road. An outside terrace / event area works well for Can Cuarassa, so a good idea to expand.

Let's not get the distance out of proportion ..... it isn't really necessary for most reasonably fit people to need a taxi

I would say it's a 30min walk from the port area ...... It's actually a really nice walk back home after a meal on a sunny evening, takes away the pudding guilt and by the time you reach the port you are ready for a few more drinks

So I don't think anyone wanting to eat there should be put off by the location BUT I do share concerns about loss of passing trade and morning breakfast trade etc

I guess they will need to work hard to make it a destination

On the other hand it will be great to see Manalo and co operating from the Trio site

Not sure how much space there is back there… but I would have thought it would be a great idea to make it more child friendly, with a play area and even possibly a pool

Its Cd, they are not going to be doing breakfasts so will have a bit later start, which will be better for them as a family.

It's not as if Ca Vostra is in the middle of nowhere - it is only a few hundred yards on from Siurell and surrounded by plenty of properties. I think the scope or development is enormous - I wish them good luck

I wouldn't think they will spend much money on it if they are only leasing it, I don't think that Tango made any changes when they did, there is no point in spending lots of money and then leaving it all for the next person if it isn't a success! IMHO it is too far out, with no passing trade, all of his friends and regulars will still go but you need the average punter to go as well, and a lot of them will not even walk a few streets back from the front, let along a few hundred yards! just look at O'Lume

This is so true.

Whenever we have guests over and we eat in the Port, they want to go to the front.

THE main attraction is the beach and the sea -It is what people come away for.

To be able to sit outside of an evening, eating great food, whilst next to the water is what makes PP for many.

Josep is an experienced business man and will - hopefully - know exactly what he is taking on, along with any inherent problems of the new site. His new business is bound to be somewhat different than at present, most probably incorporating the garden areas.
He has built up a good clientele over many years and a goodly number of them will hopefully follow him out to the former Tango Ca Vostra site.
I’m another who has patronised both C’an Josep and Tango over the years and will continue to do so on my visits to PP (though once a year is hardly regular custom!).
There are a goodly number of folks out at the Llenair / Pinaret / Gommar areas of PP as well as those former regulars who will make the effort to go to the new “Ca’n Josep”.
It is not exactly ‘miles’ away!
I have walked / taxied as I felt appropriate on several occasions. The relaxing walk along the wonderful sea-front with views of the bay is a good twenty mins or so from the Harbour / Marina whereas a five minute taxi can also be taken from the Harbour / Marina as well, and even the Alcudia bus can be used at present from the same location.
So just relax, have a pre-dinner drink or two in PP then take a walk or a taxi (for less than the price of two sunbeds / parasol) as the mood takes you and be sure to visit a restaurant where you are guaranteed a good welcome and an excellent meal. So good luck Josep….. hope all goes well with your proposed new venture.

And… the same to Manolo and staff, best wishes on your move. I’m sure that the majority of patrons who presently choose to eat at Trio will continue to use the same premises and visit the new Tango. It is now many years since Tango was last in town but regular long standing visitors to PP still remember them well and are sure to visit the revised location once they ‘sus things out’.
