That is such a shame - it was on our 'definitely to try list' for next year

Suppose it will turn into yet another Chinese/Indian/fast food place or worse.

Unhappy

So sorry to hear about this, such a busy place with locals and visitors.
Why do seemingly successful places move on or close, is it the lease conditions or what?

It wasn't making enough money and the chef/owner has been offered a great job working at the Illa D'Or.

I am very sad to hear that, we have always enjoyed going there - it certainly wasn't lacking customers so as Sparky says, seems like they were not charging enough! We would happily pay a bit more for it to stay open!

Not much chance he'll do his homemade burgers at the Illa D'Or
It was very quiet when we visited them in September - but food was good & very good value.
It wasn't a place we felt we needed to visit every holiday but we'll definitely miss La Roda & it will also be a big loss to the Ruta del Tapeo.

That's really sad - it was one of our favourites - they were all so friendly. I know there are quite a few locals who will really miss it as they seemed to be in there every day - their MDD was the best value ever (to be honest we always said it was much too cheap….) He's a talented chef - lucky Illa d'Or!
