Seafood??

As we prefer to eat fish, I´m looking for pointers towards good seafood restaurants in the Pollensa area? Anyone?

We're big fans of Brisa Marina - they always have a good choice of fresh fish, as do Los Faroles, and always feature a 'fish of the day' dish as part of their MDD (it's very often sea bream or John Dory). They both do a lovely fish paella. La LLonja is excellent for fish too (albeit more expensive). At the other end of the scale there is Ca'n Ferra, which is very unassuming and extremely reasonably priced, but great with fish (it's next door to a fish shop, which I believe is owned by the same family).

In the old town, La Fonda always has a fish trolley with today's catch for customers to take their pick. Clivia have some great fish dishes too but they are quite pricey.

but also Hostal Bahia and O'Lume and IRU I could go on and on ......

La Lonja for the soller prawns which I don't believe many other restaurant's have them?

O'lume for all round food (my brother had the sea bass baked in salt and said it was brill) but really there are so many great places and the other places mentioned by forum members are equally as good.

Los Faroles also do them and they're fantastic - I'll have to try them at La Llonja on our next trip just to compare

Los Faroles, O Lume or El Posito would be top of our list for seafood ..... actually probably just top of our list for food

Clivia do Soller prawns as a starter and they are amazing.

Ooh, yes, forgot O Lume - their sea bass in salt is amazing! - I always have fish there and am never disappointed. And El Posito, of course - they sometimes have a 'cod festival' with lots of special cod dishes for a week - think this might only be in April though.

Apparently Jamie Oliver recently said that Soller prawns are the best he has ever tasted? - Siller often has them as a 'special of the day', cooked in garlic. Delicious.

The Yacht Club has very good fish and seafood too. Excellent seafood paella and cipirones.

C'an Ferra are good for well priced simple fish dishes but also do great fish stews and soup style dishes and black rice (rice cooked in squid ink)

A lot of the fish is of course caught local, we watch the fishing boat coming back most evenings from the beach, usually has a large flock of sea gulls following them in, its the same boat that brings the pine tree around for Sant Antoni!

I don't think you will have any problem finding good "fish restaurants", after all we are surrounded by the Mediterranean!!

Its us carnivores that find it more difficult to get a good steak!!

I'm tempted to say that you've nobody to blame but yourself for being awkward ..... but I'd never do that - I'm always thankful for vegetarians - means theres more meat for greedy people like me.

At least there's always plenty of trampo & tumbet available for you & the veggie paella at El Posito is one of the best paellas I've had.

Agree the paella at el Posito is great, and as for tumbet dont get me started, the tumbet at el Casinet is wonderful , anyway stop hijacking the thread Doogz, this one is about fish!!

I can see that we´ll have no problem, being almost pescatarian.
