Not wishing to be controversial...He He but... Makes such a change from the reports from regulars (myself included) who may have loyalty issues and view things through those "rose tinted specs" !!

May your return be quicker than you think!!
Mine are rosé tinted specs!

Default Loved your report

and it is refreshing to read about new places. But I am one of the stick in the muds who having tried different places over the last 20 years have now found our fav ones and will return to them again and again.

Perhaps you will be the same and when you return (not if) you will find yourself going back to some of the places you visited this time round.

Ah well back to work now for the Commonwealth Festival at the Glasgow Green.

Cheers

Trouble with that is, Lizzy, is that our favourites always seem to close down!

I agree with your appraisal of La Rosa Blanca but it is a useful oasis in the area and Gommar is so peaceful.

Did you get a chance to try Aries for a morning coffee?
Totally agree with you re La Rosa Blanca - our terrace was sheltered from the breeze and therefore sweltering in the afternoon and it was lovely to take a dip and get some shade there! Didn't try Aries in the end but we will next time - I loved being in Gommar - peaceful and pleasant as you say and we'd stay there again
