TRIP REPORT: May 2014

Fantastic report - that tasting menu is really historic (as Michael Winner used to say) - as well as HUGE - even the amuse bouche looks vast! We will definitely give it a try later this year (but perhaps fast for a week or two before arrival) - I love Jaime's food as the quality is so excellent and he has such a good wine list too. Some great recommendations for other places too - good to hear El Posito is back to its very best.

We went to La Roda in April but were a bit disappointed - perhaps the usual chef was away that day, but it wasn't as good as last year - I'm sure the potato wedges were frozen, for example, not the lovely home-made version we had there previously, and the batter on the squid was rather soggy. I noticed several locals who had the same dish as us left theirs uneaten too… we'll have to give it another try in October. I hope it was just a one-off as it was one of my favourites last year. I'd be interested to hear reports from anyone who has been recently.
