Smile Ca'n Josep

Just returned from a brilliant 10 days in PP. Weather excellent and the whole experience enhanced by several visits to Ca'n Josep's. Coffee most days on our stroll into the Port and dinner on 4 occasions. Tried both menu del dia ( stops for summer on 1st May) and main menu and can't fault either. Superb food, excellent atmosphere and great service from Josep, his wife Lucy, Xingway and Alexandro. Altogether a great experience, very professional whilst at the same time very, very friendly.
Can't wait for June!

Thursday nights visit was to Ca'n Josep for junior mwc's 13th birthday, 3 egg & chorizo to start for the men & no starter for mrs mwc, I must say this has always been one of my favorite starters & once again did not disappoint. For main myself & senior mwc had fish of the day which was John Dory, cod & hake with a light sauce, again excellent. Mrs mwc had pork with peppercorn sauce, which she said was excellent & junior mwc fillet steak (it was his birthday), I had to have a little taste & must say fantastic bit of meat cooked perfectly. Cheese board for me & the mrs to share which was huge. Chocolate brownies with ice cream for the boys which they always say is probably one of the best deserts in the port. Again washed down with a couple of beers, soft drinks & 2 bottles of house red (which is also excellent by the way). Josep also gave us a mortitx desert wine to try. Not really been a lover of desert wines but this was really nice & refreshing. I must say we had a brilliant night with Josep, Lucy & all the staff so nice as usual. The place always seems to have such a buzz about it with everyone flying around, but it never ceases to give service & food on a perfect level. I just love this place & it's people.

Just reading your report was enough to make my mouth water! Yes, this is our favourite restaurant....a combination of lovely food, great hosts & view over the bay. We had the Mediterranean Cod a few weeks ago, it was very tasty. My husband's best dessert is the cheesecake...mine is the creme brûlée. See you soon Joseph & Lucy & the rest of the Team!

Totally agree with all the comments, and Joseph is also very helpful with dietary requests, which made our family meal a great deal easier!

Back to C'an Josep last night, 3 egg & chorizo for the men to start (what a suprise) followed by chicken with peppercorn sauce for all of us, really good as usual made nicer for me as the sauce was really hot & spicy unlike some bland sauces served in some places. After stuffing ourselves with the usual bread, olives, extra alioli etc, could not even find room for desert or a cheese board. 2 espressos with large Tia Maria's for mrs & I. Bill was 103 euros which included soft drinks, water, couple of beers & bottle of house red. As usual excellent food & service. Must give a special mention to Joseps new toy which he has had especially put in for the World Cup, a smart curve t.v which senior mwc had great delight in playing with after the meal.
