Best 5 Restaurants in PP 2014
 

Seeing as I start this thread around the same time each year, here we go again. Rules as follows:

1. You must have been to the restaurants you are voting for this year (2014).

2. You must vote on 5 restaurants ONLY that are within PP.

3. Vote from 1st being the best & so on to 5th, NO joint decisions please just 1st to 5th, though you can vote for less than 5 if you like.

4. Points awarded are 5 points for first, 4 points for 2nd, 3 points for third, 2 points for fourth & 1 point for fifth.

5. We all like restaurants for different reasons i.e food, location, atmosphere, service etc. so please vote as you will, but keep to the rules above as to avoid confusion & watch as the voting unfolds over the coming season & year.

Can we vote more than once if we go over more than once, as my favourites often change with the seasons, or do we wait until final visit and just vote for 5? :o

Hi All.
I'm quite new to the PP.com websites blog area, but we have visited Puerto P some twenty times in the last 15 years or so. A bar / restaurant I don't see mentioned on the site is Bar Naciente at 32 Carrer Llevant ', which is a real shame this restaurant should be appearing in your 'Best Places to eat' forum which you have run & taken votes on for numerous years now. Nacienta we think is one of the best places to eat & drink in the whole of the Puerto de Pollensa region. The staff provide a faultless, totally caring & professional service, the quality of food & cooking is exemplary with locally sourced ingredients along with fine Mallorcan wines; the advice on the local wines is accurate & helpful. This has always be given to us by the restaurants wine waitress Bar Nacienta comes highly recommended by us and it certainly deserves more credit than what seems to be placed on this website ... I hope that didn't seem rudely put across as I am a big fan of Puerto Pollensa.com, all the best Steve:)

Had just 4 meals out this trip so not easy to vote.

After trip in May my top 5 are:

1) Can Joseph

5) Maxim


Wife's top 5 are:

1) O'Lume
2) Can Joseph
3) Stay
4) Los Zarzales
5) Nicos

That completes our voting until September.

Problem is that if we can only vote once per year those of us that visit several times will have to wait until after our last visit before we can vote ..... Then sadly the results from our first visit of the year may be a distant memory ....

Totally agree cd. I can only remember a couple of restaurants now just from April ! By the time we have visited in September and November I would have totally forgotten what score was applicable to each.

I understand what you are saying CD but a lot of our members do only have one visit per year. If you know you will visit more than once i don't think it's too much to ask you to wait before you register your final selection ;).

Just returned from a fabulous holiday, my favourite restaurants from this visit:

1. Can Cuarassa (wonderful)
2. O'Lume (shame menu of the day was the same on both visits)
3. Osteria 15
4. Trio (amazing value)
5. Tiberi (excuse spelling)

Was disappointed by our meal at Tolos, the restaurant was packed, ordered paella and waited for 30 mins as to be expected, but the food was not as good as we would have liked, not hardly any meat or fish, and what looked like processed sausage! Also had to ask for our bill three times, staff very disorganised.

Would have liked to try other restaurants too but ran out of holiday. Maybe next time......

Thanks for voting Clareski, i have corrected the spelling for you ;).

We have been to Tolos twice this visit & have to agree the service is chaotic to say the least. None of the waiting staff seem to know who's serving what table. Just don't see why they dont allocate certain sections/tables to each members of staff. Though food was good on both our visits.

:D:D:D We were thinking of trying the Steak House as it always seemed to be busy and then I read your comment re horse meat, so quickly changed our minds - doesnt take much to put me off:)

1 . Stay Still our No 1 One night set menu and one night a la carte Both
excellent

2 . La Cabana ( 1st visit for us ) Very fresh Tapas and just chose what we
wanted rather than stick to the menu ) Will definately revisit

3 Centric (Another 1st visit 2 visits and both very good food and service )

4 Osteria 15 New again for us ! Good food but not so good an evening as
huge storm before we went there so had to sit inside and seemed very
crowded and noisy So next visit will be on a good evening weather wise !

5 Tiberi and another new one ! Simple food cooked well ( great chips ! ) and
very pleasant service


We were determined this year we would try some new Restaurants for us and we did so we missed out on Can Josep Los Faroles Brisa Marina We certainly think PP has a better selection of Restaurants than anywhere else we visit during the year

Had a short 4 night break without the kids so went to the restaurants we don't normally go to with the kids, big treat ;)

1. Hotel Llenaire, wow wow wow
2. Stay/La Lonja, fantastic value and lovely setting
3. Hotel Bahia, great fish and wonderful setting.

Back in two weeks with all the kids/mates in tow, will do a separate top 5 for that :)

Two visits to PP this year maybe a third in October (toying with the idea of going to Jamaica)

My votes

1, la llonja - great for fish
2. Stay - great food service and setting
3. Ambrosia - nice friendly place
4. Nicos - best steak in the port IMO
5. Nostalgia - kenny is a very underrated chef superb Sunday lunch

Much as we love PP....Jamaica is right up there at the top too:D:D. The only negatives being cost of hotels and length of flights:(. If you've never been before give it a try.......PP will be there next year;)
