Default From the ashes of La Goleta

I am pleased to tell you that Martin who ran La Goleta has taken over the restaurant at Eolo. He has most of the Goleta team with him Jaun, Marco & Anna. They hope to be open in 2 weeks

Eolo is open all year around isn't it, although the restaurant looked quiet in January

What fantastic news!

If any of speak to Martin and Elke please pass on very best wishes from Duncan and Jane....we'll be sure to eat there in June and August.

Isn't this place also a hotel, or is it just the restaurant they will be running? We used to stay at La Goleta in June, but we've found somewhere else for this year.

Great news though.

SWS i don't think the restaurant opens in winter but the hotel side does.

Yes Disorderly it is a hotel too but as i understand it Elke and Martin will only be running the restaurant/bar.

Like Disorderly we used to stay at La Goleta a couple of times a year, we are staying elsewhere in May & September but will be in Eolo for lunch as soon as we arrive on May 10th. Glad they have managed to keep most of the team together they work so well together and I think Eolo will be worth a visit on an evening as Juan is a very good chef. Good luck Elke & Martin.
PS, hope you will be serving crepes.

I know that most reviews of Eolo's food have not been all that favourable. As a big pizza fan I have to say that over the past few summers we have had some absolutely gorgeous pizzas there - really thin bases and lovely toppings (recommend both their seafood and special Eolo's pizzas).

All of those positive experiences were during lunchtimes though; the only time we ate there at night - admittedly an unplanned visit, stopped there as it was just too hot and humid to walk any further! - was a disappointment; the food seemed very thrown-together, and fell far short of our expectations. So it will be interesting to see what a new kitchen staff can bring to Eolo's. We will be out at Easter so will definitely be giving Eolo's another try.

Never eaten at Eolo in 10 years as it always looks a little " cafe " like but I will now give it a go.
Hopeing he will do a similar menu to the one he offered at La Goleta.
Good luck to Martin and the team.
