Default Swing (previously Restaurant Llenaire)

Just back from having enjoyed a lovely meal in the new Swing restaurant.

Sadly over the last few years Llenaire had gone down hill, it never really recovered after Davide's departure, from tonight's experience I would recommend anyone who had stopped going to give Swing a visit, good food and staff who know what the are doing and try very hard to please.

Called in here for a coffee on the return leg of a walk around the bay. The restaurant looked lovely and the service was very friendly. The coffee came with two delicious small pastries! I first used this restaurant when staying nearby in 1985. I hope the new owners are successful.

I do wish they hadn't called it 'Swing'.... it makes it sound slightly tacky somehow... however, it does look beautiful and we will certainly give it a try. Glad to know it has recovered its former allure!

Kate, I agree with you. The first time we drove by and saw the name 'Swing ' we all had a good laugh

Sparky,
They had good selection on the menu, beef and chicken dishes and also some pasta and paella. The manager previously worked in a restaurant in Alcudia for 23 years.

Obviously being a Llenaireian we had to try the new restaurant, previously known as Llenaire, which didn't really take off after change of character.

The new owners are still finding their feet, but there are undoubtedly more customers there than before, both at lunch time, and in the evening.

The decor has not changed that much inside, still basically cool white, with little art work, but it does have music playing in the back ground now which makes a difference we felt. A lot more buzzy and the waiters are great. Nibbles on the bar given to you personally when having a drink; olives, ali oli and tapanade with bread on the table before your meal; lovely house wine - Albarino for the white, luurve that wine at the moment!

Very interesting and tasty menu, word of warning again though - be very sure how you like your meat cooked, medium/rare is really rare/blue! They have a good selection of meat dishes on the menu.

Michael, the barista/cocktail maker takes great pride in all his drinks presentation, and turns everything into a piece of art, even when no one is watching him make things at the bar! And the size of the gin and tonic with strawberries..! I'm sure there was a goldfish in that glass somewhere!

The four of us had a fantastic evening there, certainly not too expensive, and the whole experience was one to be repeated. Also saw a lot of customers outside the following lunch time too, so will need a report on that part of it if anyone goes!! Recommended.

Oh, and according to the owner, the idea of the name Swing, is to suggest an era of Jazz and fun style living! It certainly worked for us!

Nice write up Bella, does it mean that the customers become "Swingers" .

Seriously though i hope it will be a great success for the new owners .

Well have to say I love 'Swing' restaurant. The level of service and quality of food are great and at a very reasonable price.

Favourite dishes so far are the starter of goats cheese wellington ( stack of roasted vegetables with goats cheese on top) and the tapas dishes have been great.

Well worth a try.

I can confirm that Swing is a great place to go. We went for the MDD, which was (I think) 14E: a choice of starters, including soup, frito marinero or frito mallorquin, and various main courses such as grilled chicken breast, fish or (my choice) absolutely delicious little lamp chops. I don't know what sort of grill they have but everything we ate was perfectly cooked - the vegetables were good too (grilled courgettes) - and gorgeous homemade chips! We didn't have a dessert, opting for coffee instead - the staff are really friendly and helpful, and this is definitely going to become one of our regular haunts. Next time we will try the a la carte menu in the evening, as this sounded really lovely - as did the tapas. This is exactly the sort of restaurant that PP needs!
