Unhappy Once they're gone - they're gone

Wth the closure of La Goleta I got to thinking about all the other good restaurants that have disappeared: We used to love Urxella (they had 2 and we liked the one on Juan 23rd). Then La Piazza, then Citrus and Migeleon and even Bella Vista (ok it is still there but might as well be a different restaurant from the menu point of view And Katy's. So many old favourites seem to have gone over the past couple of years - sad really

La Goleta closing is such a shame. Martin and staff have always provided superb service and beautiful food and the paradillo de cordero was my fave meal in PP. Hope it works out for Martin and all.
Miguelon was a place we found two years ago and the food was lovely and the sangria was the second best I have had ( after my own of course ) and Miguel was such a brilliant host.

Just in case you didn't know, he's running Laguna now, behind the Illa d'Or hotel at the end of the Pine Walk.

I hope so, it must have closed early though as it was closed all the last week of the season! Let's hope we can get over next year.

Any news on La Goleta ? Any plans on it being re-furbished ? Wonder if it will be a restaurant, with rooms above or, an entirely different configuration? Any news of Elke and Martin running somewhere else ?

When I went past last week it will still all shut up, although it looked like they were starting to remove bedroom furniture from inside.

Really hope it will be a 'traditional' restaurant/hotel and not another sports bar or whatever. La Goleta was a lovely restaurant - our first visit was last October and turned out to be our last

Looks like La Cantina2 may have closed, their FB page says they will still keep Bellaverdi going though, sad day!
