Any news on The Hideaway?

Has anybody heard any news as to who the new owners of The Hideaway are?

One rumour I heard is that its an english couple, but no-one seems to know if it will reopen as a bar. Maybe someone who went more often can help.

I didn't realise it had closed/changed hands. When I was living in PP last winter I was really surprised that there was such a big ex-pat community that would congregate there of an evening, enough so to justify the place opening 7 nights of the week, and to put on entertainment.

If it doesn't re-open as a bar I'm sure there will be a lot of upset residents around the Gommar area...

I have heard that Ted (the former owner) passed away yesterday. He was a great guy and we have some lovely memories of him and his late wife Jane, sad news :(.

It is being refitted at the moment and will re-open at the beginning of season as an Italian restaurant. Just what we need that - another Italian Restaurant!!

Only time will tell. Well Done to the new owner for taking a risk.
