Default Clivia still just fab!

Hi
Just to confirm the Clivia is still a terrific restaurant!
We visited twice recently and everything was just immaculate. Our sea bass in lemon sauce was melting and the fillet steak would have fed a small family.
We have been going there for around 10 years now we think & have never had less than a perfect evening there.
It's noticeale that the team there rarely changes from year to year. Well done chaps (& Antonia!).

I love this place. The food is great, staff are so correct but friendly with it. They just seem to get it so right every time - no wonder they have won so many awards really!

I'm a regular visitor and it really does put most other places raved about on this site in the shade both for food quality and service, anyone in pp should definetly make the short trip to Pollensa give it a go and make sure they have the baked alaska for dessert as it's to die for!

We're probably going to go out for dinner on Saturday night, so I think we're going to have to try this place out.
Better pace myself during the rest of the week and only have a couple of bottles of vino per night

Hmmm, well let me say that I think we must have caught them on a night when they were under staffed. Only 4 staff and the place was really full. Not that the service was slow, just a bit of a blur and for once not because of the wine!!.
Anyway, we're going to go again when things are a bit quieter, and give them another chance. (Nice of us don't you think):lol
Mind you I got a G&T on the house, slim line Gin but high octane Tonic.(wow what a buzz!!!)

To be honest, there are only ever 4 staff on and we have never had a problem with service.

They do tend to whizz about alot, but I think that is just their way of doing things. We tend to book our table for about 9pm so by the end of the meal the restaurant is quieter and we are able to have a chat with them.

What did you think of the food?

The service wasn't bad, just very rushed. I prefer the kind of service at Ca'n Cuarassa for the same money.
The food was OK, I had asparagus, followed by sea bream, wifey had stuffed mussels and veal.
I think I had just built it up in my mind to be something better than it turned out to be. I'm sure other people love the place, and we will go again, I just wasn't that impressed, sorry:rolleyes
