Default Where to eat

I will be celebrating a milestone birthday while we are out in October and just wondered what everyone's thoughts were on the best place to celebrate this. The actual day of my birthday it will just be hubby and I although our son and daughter will be joining us a couple of days later, so we may have to have two celebratory meals

Just feel that we should perhaps try somewhere different for a special meal but just not sure where

I would suggest to go to one of your favourite restaurants that you have been to many times and know you like and book and and maybe mention the special birthday

Whenever we try somewhere different or from the best restaurant thread for a special occasion it is disappointing.

For our wedding anniversary in May we had cold vegetable lasagne and I mean fridge cold in the middle at a well forum reviewed restaurant. They did microwave it when asked about it

My wife said to me we should have gone to Trencadora where we know we like. lesson learnt.

Mark, I do have to agree with you as we have tried restaurants, both at home and in PP, from recommendations and have been really disappointed. I have one or two in mind and just wondered whether I would get some more suggestions. I usually try to 'play safe' when it comes to eating out and I guess that's why we all have our own favourites as probably lots of people are the same.

Just thought - we went to La Victoria last June and the setting was really romantic - and the food was good Also there have been some posts recently about Hotel LLenaire which sounds very special

If I was looking for a special restaurant to celebrate a big event I think I'd choose Restaurant Siller. The décor of the restaurant is, in my view, more "special" than any other in PP, the food quite different and really top drawer, the service really personal and friendly and a lot of the produce is grown on the owner's finca.

Someone posted here a while back that the owners used to own a restaurant in Pollensa which had a Michelin star. I can't confirm if that is true, but I've eaten in restaurants with Michelin stars and it certainly wouldn't surprise me.

Wherever you choose, I hope you have a brilliant meal.

Thanks folks for all your suggestions We need to have a think about it and then make our decision. Probably be trying to book somewhere at the last minute though as I won't be able to decide

For us it would be Can Currassa every time. Always good, always consistent.

For the pedantic, the second "always" is unnecessary but it makes the point!
