Days 4 & 5 of Simon & Jonny's holiday
Following on from Day 1 and Days 2 & 3 here is the latest instalment of where we have eaten and drunk on our holiday!
On Tuesday we ate in our apartment and attempted to visit the Music Bar for a drink and a game of pool. Unfortunately the bar was closed, perhaps it closes on a Tuesday. On Wednesday, after my "interesting" photo shoot I headed over to Dolç Sa Pobla for a yummy breakfast. http://www.simonbutlerphotography.co...IMG_1462-M.jpg After breakfast I headed over to the market to take some photos - I will be posting these in the photo section soon. We ate lunch in our apartment of ham filled baguettes. For Dinner we went to Trio. I had read so many good things about this restaurant on here and as we'd never been we decided to try it out. It was incredible value - I had 4 courses and 1/2 bottle of wine for €17.50. The service was also great. Location good. Wine was lovely. But the food was variable; some of it was lovely, other bits less so. The bread and olives were delicious, the bread especially so. It was slightly warm having obviously just come out of the oven. http://www.simonbutlerphotography.co...IMG_1522-M.jpg Jonny didn't have a starter, but I had onion soup which was very nice, especially with their lovely bread. http://www.simonbutlerphotography.co...IMG_1524-M.jpg The lovely wine. http://www.simonbutlerphotography.co...IMG_1523-M.jpg The mains were a little disappointing. Jonny had battered fish and chips. His fish has bones in it and the chips were a bit limp. http://www.simonbutlerphotography.co...IMG_1527-M.jpg |
Mine was grilled sole. It was nice but could have done with a sauce as the fish was a little dry as were the potatoes. The veg had been given a coating in butter and were lovely.
http://www.simonbutlerphotography.co...IMG_1528-M.jpg We did both have puddings but unfortunately I forgot to photograph them. Jonny had chocolate mousse which was lovely, I had cheese cake which wasn't. Mine came slavered in an extremely sweet and sickly strawberry sauce, Jonny's was surrounded by the same. My cheesecake was really sweet so overall it was a bit too sweet and sickly for my taste. His mousse would very chocolately and would have been much nicer without the sauce. So overall, I'd give Trio a solid 6/10 for the food but 10/10 for value. All that food came to a very reasonable €38.35. http://www.simonbutlerphotography.co...IMG_1532-M.jpg As photos of Jonny are popular, here are a couple: http://www.simonbutlerphotography.co...IMG_1530-M.jpg http://www.simonbutlerphotography.co...IMG_1533-M.jpg We are eating in today for lunch but will be out on the Ruta tonight so expect photos of tapas, wine and bars tomorrow (or on Friday depending on how many wines I have tonight) |
Forgot to mention, after Trio we headed to the Music Bar and had a few frames of pool. Yet again the bar was almost empty - please do pay a visit and support a great bar...
