Things must have changed since I went there just over 1 year ago. When their idea of patatas brava is boiled potatoes with a squirt of tomato sauce on top you know its time to leave.

That has not been our experience, the food has always been excellent on our visits!
In fact there is a version of patatas brava that is made with boiled potatoes and a tomato sauce on, in fact the sauce I make when I cook patatas brava is made with garlic mayonnaise, tomato sauce and several large dashes of Tabasco, although I much prefer my potatoes deep fried.

Re boiled potatoes with tomato sauce squirted on top. A fierce Spaniard who owns a tapas bar in purley who I have know for 25 years calls that version Tapas for the masses. I agree 100%. no thought or effort has gone into it at all. Its quick and cheap.

I can assure you the potato bravas was nothing like that, sauce was excellent & spicey. Every dish was first class, we will defiantly be going back again this week, unlike were we ate last night which is another thread all together (details to come in due course).

Sounds good to me but you best be careful: if you do the deep fried version you may find a queue outside your door ..... & I I'll probably be at the front of it !

Actually I might give that a go using parmentier potatoes as even more of a cheat !
