Talking "Must Have Meals"

There are certain meals at certain restaurants that are “must haves” every time we visit. Not that we are unadventurous – we found these by trial and error:

Starters
Baby Broad Beans at Los Zarzales accompanied with their excellent house red
Chiperones at Brisa Marina; usually a small portion to share is ample
Padron Peppers – anywhere serving them. Not had a hot pepper for years so I grow my own now!
Love a good portion of “Trampo”but available separately in most places – any suggestions?

Mains
Bowl of Mussels at Coral Bar, (slightly spicy sauce)
Seafood Spaghetti at Laroc
Suckling Pig usually at El Posito
Iberico Pork Fillet at O Lume

Also always have sardines, garlic prawns and a plate or two of ham but quite happy trying these anywhere.
Loving the fact that more and more places are doing tapas, seems they have eventually caught on back home. Yet to find anywhere as good and original as the old Neptuno's, but enjoying trying to find a replacement.

Please suggest any that should not be missed as we are on the 3 week countdown and reading trip reports and recommendations is whetting my appetite

Great Trampo in Can Josep - comes with Tuna or Trampo as it comes in Los Faroles.

Not to be missed: Los Faroles - grilled John Dory on the bone or Rabbit with Prawns.

Enjoy.

My husband and I were just saying the other day that we had not had a 'hot' padron pepper for years. I remember one year I had tears running down my face at Balaixa after having one .... Love them though !

My must have:

La Llonja: spaghetti with truffle sauce. I dream of this during cold winter months at home !

Ooooh I love trampo too. Cella La Para do a great trampo. Slightly chunkier cut than other places but gorgeous.

Nostalgic moment - Kenny's Citrus Salad, and his perfect steak or Lamb. They were perfect - even more so since we can't have them anymore

Default Pie

Any one out there who loves a steak and Guiness pie? Go try Ians' pie at Hells Hitchen, fantastic with proper pastry as well. Been twice this hols and loved it both times. Stay was good as well as you would expect.

Pork Loin in pepper sauce in Naciente.... With their wonderful 'Chips Paja' - crispy fried thin potato strips with whole garlic.

Only 5 weeks to go!

Try Centric for the Japanese chicken dumplings for a starter followed by fillet of beef main course. You won't regret it. Totally agree about Neptuno
