Default Our choice

Where to start, well after the first night we (us 6) agreed that we would eat in a different restaurant each night till Thursday on this day we would vote where to eat on Friday our last night.

Saturday – Los Zarzales

Most had the Lamb which was excellent, I had Pork which was just as good, no starters no sweets. Nice large Brandy with compliments to finish with, service wonderful.

Sunday – Tango

Mix with Lamb and Pork, with starters and sweets. Service very slow usual Head Waiter superb, meal was only average and not that cheep.

Monday – O Lume

Booked nice round table Mix with Lamb, Chicken and Steaks very nice starters, all the food was superb, service out of this world just Manager and One girl looking after about 6 tables. A Bony’s size Brandy on the house to complete the meal.

Tuesday – El Posito

Table for 10 with Portofan and his new haircut alsoHikerbiker and there ladies. The place was busting at the seams very full good atmosphere, Food was OK considering the numbers eating, have had better in there. Refused the Herbas so Tony found us a bottle of Cava.

For the record there are three versions of Herbas Dry, Sweet and Mix I preferred the mix.

Wednesday – Balaixa

What a Gem, Mallorcaboy we put it on your account Mandy said that would be OK.
Wonderful food lovely setting can’t fault it even bottles of wine to take home.
(Made it more expensive with taking a Taxi both ways, but worth the effort).

Thursday – Chinese

The one at the start of Formentor Road opposite the Bank, some of our group wanted a change. (It was a rip of and not very good food to boot).

Now for the Voting points for Food, Price, Service, and Freebies. Total 30 max

Chinese * * * * * * * * No Vote Taken

Tango* * * * * * * * 19.50 Points

El Posito* * * * * * * * 20.50 Points

La Zarzales* * * * 26.00 Points

Balaixa* * * * * * * * 27.25 Points

O Lume* * * * * * * * 27.50 Points

Friday – O Lume

A little more busy, Hikerbiker taking one table, requested Large Prawns as starter for 5 off us not on the Menu (By the way you can have half portions of starters) so we asked for half portions I had 10 King Prawns grilled wonderful, Three of us had Tee Bone Steak off the bone very good mine could have been cooked a touch more best to ask for medium not medium rare, Three had Chicken in white wine sauce.
To full for sweets so we had Irish coffees and others, followed by the customary liqueur. For drinks we had bottle of house red and white, water and two large beers.
Bill came to Inc tip 180€.

This place is only in its first year please support you will not be disappointed it rates amongst the best its position is its downfall back two roads from the front in Juan de la Cosa. Such nice people also, help it survive please.

Hi Snowy

So how many pounds did you put on ?! Sounds like you
had a great holiday. Really enjoyed reading your restaurant
reviews and was pleased to see my favourite Los Zarzales
scored so highly. It's almost a criticism to say but the
portions are so huge that by the time you've had a starter
and main course you've no space for pud..well in my case
anyway.. although I then nick spoonfuls of other peoples
(but only from our table ! )

5 days till we're back and really looking forward to trying O
Lume sounds very good and only staggering distance 'del mi
apartemento'

Take care
Debs
