Had 2 weeks in PP from 11th to 25th May with our elderly parents. Whilst the weather wasn't great due to the distinct lack of sunshine we enjoyed our holiday and had some lovely meals during our
stay.
The day we arrived we strolled along the pine walk and decided to have lunch at Little Italy. We were quite underwhelmed by the experience.
My pasta dish was very bland and hubby's pizza 'average'. The service was quite slow and we thought it was on the pricy side. We wouldn't rush back.
Can Pescador - great meal. I ordered sea bass and got the whole fish on my plate!! It was delicious, father-in-law had the prawn and monkfish kebab which he said was very good indeed. Very friendly waiters and a good atmosphere with a lovely view of the sea from our table.
La
Laguna - one street back from the pine walk just along from the
Illa D'or hotel. We had never been here before but as it was just behind our
apartment and it was a cold evening (no sun again) we decided to give it a try. What a gem of a place. The food is absolutely delicious and Miguel, the owner is a real character. My mother-in-law was considering having the lamb and asked if there was any mint sauce - Miguel said no but if she came back a few days later he promised he would have it for her. We all enjoyed our dinner and the desserts are to die for!! Needless to say we returned again a few days later and guess what - a jar of Colmans mint sauce was waiting for my mother-in-law - she was delighted!!
There is also a lovely pool with loungers so we had an afternoon there sunning ourselves and enjoyed the drinks and nibbles. We will definitely be going back there on our next visit and would highly recommend it to all visitors.
The Sparrow - this is a hidden gem.
In a quiet street behind the
Pollensa Park hotel. We go here every time we visit and have never been disappointed. Pepe the owner is a fantastic chef and the food is delicious and tremendous value for money. It has a lovely garden area at the back after you go through the bar area. It suffers a bit from not being on the main street so spread the word people and keep this lovely little restaurant going strong!!
Hells Kitchen - tried this for the first time this year during a cold, rainy evening when we were looking for somewhere cosy. We enjoyed our prawn curry and the apple crumble was great. Good food and good value for money. The service was excellent too - the waitress had a lovely smile.
Hope the weather improves for visitors in June.
