Review - La Casita Alcudia Town June 2009

We love a stroll around Alcudia town - well worth the short bus trip and the driver shouting "Ok - Alcudia - Get Off! Get Off!" Nothing better than a leisurely lunch after a wander around the roman walls and a look in the pretty shops and at 2 1/2 hours this really was a leisurely lunch - well the buses stop over siesta you understand! ;)

Facing the pharmacy turn left and around the back of the consulate building with the flags outside is a pretty little square containing the restaurant "La Casita". A lovely, quiet place to linger.

We immediately recognised Bruno who used to work at Little Italy and sussed - this is an "Italian" restaurant. The service, food and setting were all lovely.

We had garlic bread with fresh rosemary to start, then hubby pizza, me caeser salad - both delicious, bottle rosado, gallons of water (it was so hot that day) couple of beers, coffee, amarettos (2 each :o - Bruno assured us it was ok because we were on holiday) cost 65 euros - ok not cheap for lunch but we did overdo it a bit on the drinks! :o Well worth it for a lovely day out!

Another good day out then!

We discovered that little square last October, but approaching it from the top (other) end, and as it was time for a refreshment, had a nice glass of wine, sitting at a table out in the square and facing the restaurant, and observing the very steep stairways up to the houses above!

Mostly locals passing through the square and the postman going about his duties.

Weren't quite ready for lunch but another time for sure!:)

Am really shocked at the price 65 pound more or less for a pizza and salad i know you had a few drinks but its so expensive.

Know what you mean Bevgt - but it is really the exchange rate to blame. In the good old days this would have worked out just under £40 - the same as you'd pay in a Zizzi or other high st chain.
