The sad fact is Mixers are no longer what they were.
These days they're sweetened with artificial chemicals which completely alters the taste.

There was a time when bitter lemon used to make you wince with its sharpness.
Now it just taste's like lemonade.

So in gin, it just gives an overwhelming sweet taste.

Another example is Coca cola . it Used to have a bite in it . Now it's sickly sweet with a cloying after taste.

Yes, it is still pollensafan, Just with his serious head on for a change.

You have to pay more - for quality mixers like Fever Tree - I find if you use a good mixer the gin becomes irrelevant so you can get it at LIDL for peanuts (and maybe some of those too )

I will go to Lidl tomorrow at Pollensa as Ftree is our preferred tonic with Brockmans.

Maybe Coca Cola (the company) are aiming to give Coca Cola (the drink) a bit more of a bite with a caffeine infusion from their newly acquired Costa Coffee chain.

I don't think Lidl sell Fevertree or at least they didn't last time I looked. I think Mopezone meant you can buy any old cheap gin eg Lidl and you won't notice the difference if you use a good tonic such as Fevertree.

What a shame, Fevertree is in the port and town but 6.85 and 6.40 for 4 small bottles. Back to the local blue tonics.

Flew back last weekend, delighted to find Xoriguer at the airport for €13 in the duty free section just after security area, last year the only place that had it was the deli place at €29.
4 bottles might see us through a few weeks

Una has been a welcome stylish bar in PdP. Shame that it's in that grotty alley.

I think you mean Bar Ona, part of Hotel Mar Calma. Also while i know C/ Economo Torres is not to everyone's taste, calling it a "grotty alley" is a bit harsh.

Bar Ona is great and just really used it this year. The lady who was in there in September was so friendly and the selection of drinks was great. It is definitely a place we'll go into again next year. Thanks for highlighting to others on the forum 😀 It's a busy alley and good when you're out on a bit of a pub crawl night because you can pop quickly into one place after another !!! Should I still be doing this??? When in PP why not 😃

You might be right but calling it 'The Street of Ecclesiastical Towers' seems very generous!

I do like a bit of grot occassionaly.

I don't know where you get "Ecclesiastical Towers" from, my translator says it's "Economy Towers".

That sounds more like it sparky I'm not sure why but we always call it Gasoline Alley!

I have to be in the mood and mostly avoid it but sometimes it has to be done
