Read the Mail's supplement mag this morning and Matthew Jukes recommended these Spanish wines:
Pazo Serantellos Albarino 2004, Galicia £6.99 Tesco
Described as having a "zesty, refreshing finish, a little like Sauvignon Blanc"
Marques de la Concordia Signa Tempranillo 2003, Rioja £5.99 Tesco
Described as "an utterly stunning, lightweight Rioja." Matthew Jukes says 2003 was a phenomenal vintage so look out for more examples.
The wine of the week for all you Sauvignon Blanc lovers was:
Blind River Sauvignon Blanc 2004, Marlborough, South Island, New Zealand £9.99 Oddbins.
"Lush, ripe, tropical...this is a timebomb of impeccable citrus fruit."
Word of warning - if you want to try this get to Oddbins quickly. I have found in the past that whatever Matthew Jukes recommends at Oddbins sells out very quickly.
