We have a return visit to PP booked for 2007 and our sons are joining us for this trip. One of the boys is in to kite boarding in a big way. He has experience on land and water and I would appreciate any info to pass on to him regarding boarding on holiday.

the south end of the bay, just past Club Pollentia is where all the locals sail - up to 30 or so on a weekend, less in the week

plenty of scrub / sand to rig on

prevailing winds are on shore, just watch the road...
someone caused a traffic jam by crashing the kite across it last time we were there - June -

OK, it's windsurfing, but this is the location, with Club Pollentia in the background on some shots

not normally quite that windy in the summer, but you do get the odd day of force 5-6

It shows all the top spots for kitesurfing and had I not injured my spine I'd probably be out there too! Tell him to get to Calonia de son serra just below Can picaforte. It's probably the most popular and chilled out kitesurfing area in Mallorca. Theres good low but powerfull chop which is perfect for practicing short loops but if the wind is just right it's one of the best beaches in the med for all styles and levels of kitesurfing.
