Default Closure of thread

Unbelievable, I now cannot post a thread about peoples opinions on the best restaurants in the place we all love because it is to early in the season or whatever. If people had just posted like they did last year it would not be an issue. Well done to all the posters who had a whinge about it & have had a good & informative thread closed. And to admin, thanks for letting them win. I wonder how long this goes from being closed, edited or even deleted. What happened to opinion & freedom of speech.

Couldn't agree more, MWC. Why we can't all state our favourite restaurants reflecting back on our previous experiences escapes me. Thought you had a good idea there.....seemed pretty popular last year, as I recall.

OK so Los Pecadores would be in my top 5, and it's not there any more. Shame, but not a deal breaker.

Seems to have beeen quite a lot of squabbling on the forum of late, so as I'm not due out to PP again until July, I think I'll give this a miss for a while.

Disorderly

Thank's for that, my sentiments exactly. Maybe if a few more who had the bottle & same opinion could post also, so that we can get this interesting, simple & informative thread back on.

The clue was in the title 'Favorite restaurants in 2011' , as stated as a lot of them now have new owners, new chefs and new menus, and as none of us or very few actually visited them it makes sense to wait until people have before posting their top 5, if we are patient I am sure there will be a thread running again on this subject

SWS

Yes, this is why people were asked not to vote until they have been this year. Is that any reason to close a thread down because of the date, what is the problem.

Being a moderator or an admin is a thankless task, believe me I know, decisions are made with the best interest of the forum and its members, Zelda, Sparky and the other mods do a great job, lets not forget this is a great place to post which is provided to us free of charge, and also as has been stated many times before is part of a business so squabbling at the time when people are trying to gain information to book holidays isn't helpful.

Believe me, decisions are made with the best interest of the forum & not its members. The fact of the matter is we just wanted to run the same thread as last year for people to gain information & look where it has ended up. And by the way if you look at the same thread I run last year, it is one of the most viewed & replied to threads to have been on here. So that in itself should answer any questions
