Default Trojan Horse Anti Virus Message?

Hello,

When accessing the forum from my PC my Avast anti virus tool has flagged up that a 'trojan horse' originating from this site has tried to infect my computer. Has anyone else had anything similar?

Regards

I access this forum from several computers all with full security software including one which blocks access to 'suspect' sites and I haven't had any such warnings.

But if anyone else has - please let us know.

I have just Googled this & it does appear that Avast is known to report False Positives - so it could be an issue with avast.

For a couple weeks now when I go to this site and try to enter directly via the 'Forum' I am taken to a strange page. However, when I take the one click longer way - that is to the main PP entry I don't get the strange page.

Have run scans etc and have protection but this is a recent problem that I have not experienced before (this may or may not be related).

I am loth to try again the link directly to the forum just in case!

Hi,

please can you explain exactly what you mean. There is the main website puertopollensa.com & the forum forum.puertopollensa.com What link are you clicking on that takes you to a strange page? And which ant-virus software do you use? Thanks.

I use Norton 360 and otherwise don't have a problem.

I use Google to search - Puerto Pollensa
up comes The main link to this site and I used to choose the direct entry to the Forum a couple of lines below the main link.

I have tried again for you and it is an advertisement for Media Player and storage. Sorry don't now think this is the problem others are experiencing.

It is prevalent on first try of the day and may not happen on second third attempt 'immediately' there after but can happen later in the same day when restarting my pc.

Apologies if I'm wasting your time.

Further info:

I think this site may be tracked by 'Casino' as we get Spam from them.
When I looked further re post above they show up - are others having this?

Have run all scans and cleared cookies again.

I am not sure if this has any bearing on the subject but about 3 weeks ago a member posted a link which I removed because my McAfee flashed up a warning and removed a Trojan when I clicked on it .

I have been getting this for a few weeks only when visiting the forum from the link at the top of google results page

The Avast warning is this

-

Could be a false positive of course.

this is the url

http://www.forum.puertopollensa.com/

whatever triggers it could be on the page misc.php

this page is OK
Puerto Pollensa (Port de Pollenca) Holiday Travel , Majorca Mallorca only triggers when entering the forum.

(My browser is Firefox 22.0, windows 7 with Avast antivirus)

Any links I follow directly to a forum thread are OK.

Hi Mark,

we are investigating this & as you say there appears to be an issue only if you click on the link via Google. Needless to say if your security software does not highlight this and you see a page from 'filestore' or any other Media advert, Do NOT CLICK ON IT!

Better still put the forum address in your bookmarks www.forum.puertopollensa.com

I too am having trouble every time I log onto the PP site. Screen freezes and the folowing message appears:- "A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run your computer might become unresponsive" There is an option to "stop running this script", which I always click, but doesn't seem to resolve the issue without re-booting the computer. Incidentally, I also have Avast security!

Millipet, this is not a security issue but I really don't know what it is & maybe is your PC or browser. When you say 'Log onto PP site', do you mean the pollensa forum or the main website www.puertopollensa.com ? They are actually 2 different websites on 2 different servers.

The issue that we have had only relates to people clicking on a link to the 'Pollensa Forum' from Google.

Re the issue reported today, which gave a security error (or redirected you to Filestore or a Media popup) when clicking on a link from Google to 'Pollensa Forum', we believe this has been resolved.

But if you do experience this error again, do let us know. Thanks.
