Men's clothes

Help!! We are arriving in PP tomorrow... My husband and myself have both been dieting like things possessed and have lost quite a lot of weight since we were last in PP... now, obviously, as the female of the species, I have taken this into account and have provided myself with new clothes as and when necessary. However, being a bloke, other half clearly thought that his holiday clothes would simply adapt themselves to his new, slimmer physique. (I am not allowed to shop for him, you see.) Result being, when he came to try on his old spring/summer wardrobe last night prior to packing, he has hardly anything which actually fits him...

No time to buy new clothes before we leave... so he will be coming out pretty much in the clothes he stands up in. Is there anywhere in PP or Pollensa - not too expensive - that is good for men's clothes? I also wondered whether the shopping outlet - is it called Festival Park? - was any good - I have never been there. (He is in his mid-40s, btw, but doesn't have a clue about fashion - would live in a fleece and jeans if he could!)

Men clothes

A couple of trains of thought on this one....

If he doesn't mind second hand, have a good look in the Allen Graham Charity Shop. They often have some brilliant items in there - and last week they were flogging most of their clothing stock at half the normal marked price. They also have a changing room so your other half can try things on if he takes a shine to anything. You also get the glow of helping a really good charity too!
It's also a good place to drop off clothes that you no longer want, need or fit into!

Secondly, most of the shops in Puerto Pollensa and Pollensa are having their end of season sales - so there are plenty of bargains to be had.

And well done on doing so well with your diets too! :)

I agree with Lorenzo on this one but to be honest jeans and fleece might be the best outfit as the weather forecast is looking distinctly nasty for the next few days with high winds, rain, storms and temps dropping drastically :(:(.

The Festival Park is OK, there's one particular shop which is normally good value, but i can't remember the name, the others tend to be on the expensive side, not worth a trip down, however if your passing it's worth going and having a look, you never know.

Thanks all - some great suggestions here, so hopefully it won't be a case of the Emperor's New Clothes while we are away - don't worry, Sparky, jeans and fleece will definitely be coming with us, they are practically members of the family!

Like smiddy says there's a large British primark type of place at festival park that's excellent value beggered if I can remember its name either, most of the other outlets there are good value too so I'm told by hers indoors :/

Belladonna 26-10-2012 22:11

Theres a Corte Inglaise there, do you mean that gers?

Sparky 26-10-2012 23:08

Hubby has bought some good autumn/winter shirts and trousers from the markets in PP and Pollensa ;).

And the Corte Ingles is a discounted outlet, so prices are quite good. Don't forget there's also Alcampo, which is particularly cheap and cheerful.

gers1873 27-10-2012 12:47

yes corte ingles thats it primark type place sure thats it ;)

Lol, their lawyers will be in touch soon Gers! El Corte Inglés are the fourth largest department store group in the world, the store at Festival Park may be a discount outlet for them but they are not in the same league as Primark!

lollipop 27-10-2012 15:20

SWS97 I agree, I bought a really nice Italian leather jacket for 29 euro instead of 150 ,definitely wouldn't get the real thing in Primark.

Belladonna 27-10-2012 16:53

Have you looked at the Corte Ingles there recently SWS? I was shocked at how much they have deteriorated in their goods at that particular store. Others I agree are pretty good, but that outlet store is unfortunately not up to scratch, so have to agree with gers on the likeness to Primark. :( Saying that lollipop, you obviously have a very good eye for a bargain!

sws97sdg 27-10-2012 17:10

It's a discount outlet so the decor is not the important thing, but as Lollipop found the difference is that they sell designer stuff at cheap prices, not cheap stuff at stupid prices, it's more like Tk Max!

Belladonna 27-10-2012 19:58

Wasnt bothered with the decor, but did find it impossible to find a bargain when we were there! As with most outlets, I suppose you just have to be there when the delivery has arrived! Or maybe just hijack lollipop to come shopping! ;)
