Me too. The children (now adults) have been going there since we first visited the port. I asked my daughter what she was looking forward to this summer-after the warmth it was the kiosko(family nickname!).:o
|
I have also signed it :)
|
I have just signed. I didn't know this was happening - do they still have they nearby shop that they opened last year?
|
Yes they do. I'd imagine they were probably expecting this?
Shame... |
Have signed this morning. Very sad if this does close as we have great memories over the years.
|
Signed and also had a good moan on Facebook too
Without naming names I think a lot of people on the forum know who the owners of Cafe 1919 are and also their numerous other establishments in the Port. Because of their greed they are trying to destroy probably one of the most iconic spots in PP....the ice cream kiosk by the roundabout. Who hasn't at some point on their holiday stopped to have an ice cream and then sat on the wall to eat it. Many will also remember Mr Valls driving along the seafront on his motor bike shouting 'Helados Ice creeeeeeam' and stopping at various points to serve ice cream to a throng of children. You could set your watch by him...3pm South Sandy Beach! 🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦 Everyone please sign the petition |
Yes Debz i too have made my feelings known on FB, it is wonderful to see so many of the smaller business owners also publicly defending Valls.
The kiosk has been on that site for many years, certainly way before Cafe 1919 arrived on the scene. I really hope that Valls win this battle, the "big boys" have had their own way in PP for far too long, looking at the amount of comments by the locals on FB i think there is going to be a big backlash if the council allow them to force out a much loved family concern. P.S Valls already have 1.588 signatures on the petition but please sign if you haven't already done so. |
I have signed. I don't like the way Cafe 1919 is taking over the start of the Pine Walk.
|
I agree with the last three comments.
But looking at it rationally, the kiosk is "in the way". Let's hope a solution can be found that satisfies all four parties, in other words Costas, the Town Hall, Valls and Boulevard. Molt |
Have signed and posted on fb. Too many small things in life pushed aside because its thought to be old hat or not modern or trendy enough, well I strongly believe it's those little pleasures that make life worthwhile, as stated above many people would have stopped for a cone, lets all get behind this, Valls is so part of PP's charm.

Jimsboy has signed. Do not upset the Viet Taff!!
