Default Safes for rent in Puerto Pollensa?

Hi,

I am just wondering if anyone knows if you can rent a safe for a week anywhere in Puerto Pollensa?

Thank you

When we have rented apartments without a safe we have rented a safe deposit box at Aparthotel Flora in their reception area. They are open usually from end of March until beginning of November. Hope this helps.

That's handy to know. Don't think we would risk staying in an apt without one now.

Sorry if I am being a bit dim but surely a safe has to be built in to the accommodation - otherwise a thief would just steal the safe if it was freestanding?! They could then work out how to get into it at their leisure!

Sorry if I'm interpreting your question wrongly here but I'll take a chance! Marilyn meant that the safes they hired were actually in the hotel itself, not picked up from them and brought back to the apartment . Most rental apartments now buy a safe and have it fitted in somewhere. Hope this clears things up, or it may be me that's got it all wrong - not for the first time!

I think the best thing to do if your accommodation does not provide a safe is to go to the nearest hotel/aparthotel and ask if you can rent a safety deposit box .

Yes, the safes would be built it, not moveable or they'd be pointless. I'm not a big fan of basic room safes either in private villas, apartments or hotels as they're always in the same place, mainly the wardrobe, and not too secure.

Best method is to hide your property in the accommodation and not all items together. The better safe systems are probably the ones in hotel lobby's as they will be monitored 24/7.
Unless anyone else can convince me otherwise.

P.S. - I do realise of course that a lot of insurers will only cover items kept within a safe.

The Flora apartments have a small safe built inside the wardrobes. Additonally they have about 20 smaller safety deposit boxes located in the reception area. When we have stayed in accommodation without a safe, we have rented one of these to keep passports, sterling etc. None of these safes are portable. Hope this clarifies this.
