Where To Post Your Photographs

The Pollensa Forum Photos
This is a "Group Photo Pool" this was set up to showcase photographs of puerto Pollensa and surrounding areas along with photographs of social events to do with Puerto Pollensa, that is really the only type of photograhs that should be posted in the Group photo pool.

Your Photostream
This is your own personal space where you can post any photographs that you like (within reason). There are 2 types of access to choose from when you post your photographs these are:
1. Public. This means anyone accessing Flicr can view your Photograph.
2. Private. This means that only your contacts can view the photographs.

There are 2 types of Private photograh
1. Visable to friends. This means any "friends" on flickr can view your photographs. To allow everybody mamber in the group to view your photographs the must be a "friend" only then can they view your photographs.
2. Visable to family. This is for those photographs you only want a select few to view these people have to be made "Family". This is where you put private and personal photographs.

To summarize:
If you want anybody who visits the flickr website to view mark them "PUBLIC".
To restrict who sees your Photographs mark them "PRIVATE"
If you want your "PRIVATE" photographs to be viewed by your "FRIENDS" from the PUERTO POLLENSA FORUM mark them "VISABLE TO FRIENDS"
To restrict who sees your Photographs mark them "PRIVATE"
If you don't want your "PRIVATE" photographs to be viewed by your "FRIENDS" from the PUERTO POLLENSA FORUM mark them "VISABLE TO FAMILY"

Is that as clear as mud?

Now that you understand that can We ask that
IF YOU HAVE ANY PHOTOGRAPHS WHICH ARE NOT OF PUERTO POLLENSA AND AREAS, FORUM MEETING OR FORUM RELATED could you please remove them asap and ensure they are in still in your "YOUR PHOTOSTREAM" this will help members looking for photographs of Pollensa to find them and not have to wade through photographs of Great Aunt Bessies tea party and the cat sunning it's self. these photographs although interesting belong else where, your photostream!:rollin

Right now we have 140+ photographs in the "Group Pool" that's within a few weeks by this time next year we hope it will be over 1,000! We need to keep the Potographs in some kind of order, and the reason for restricting the type of photographs in the Group pool right now is because it will make this task so much easier in the future.

Hi Rob,

thank you very much for posting this as I was about to post something similar.

As Rob says the group pool is for photos that relate to the forum & like the forum may be viewed by people who have not yet visited the area and would like to see what it's like. Please therefore only add those photos to the pool which you judge would be helpful to potential visitors to the area. As Rob says the group is a 'showcase' for the Pollensa area. We don't as yet have any means putting these photos into 'sets' so we will need to restrict their numbers.

I would recommend that you put all 'Your Photos' into sets (with meaningful names) and then just add a selection to the pool.

So if you have already added some that may not be appropriate, please remove them from the pool - they will still be in 'Your Photos' and you make them Private but available to Friends - & then we can still have a look at them,
