Default Walls come tumbling down!!.

Just thought i would report the latest on the old Tango site. The huge crane has been removed, the scaffolding is gone and they are now knocking down the high wall which surrounded the area.

They have also started to demolish the old school, apparently this will be the site of a new bus station .

There is also a rumour going around that the council have decided to move the market out of the square and have it on land opposite the big Eroski . I really hope this is not true, it would be madness to not have the market in the square.

Sparky - if you mean the piece of land between the Fairline boatyard and the torrente I noticed that they were building a very posh looking dry stone wall around it a couple of weeks ago. I would say that it was too smart to be the front of a market area.

Anyone have any info on what might be happening here? Looks like a developemnt in my opinion.

It always used to have horses on it, when the kids were young we would stop to see them and the couple in the small finca next to the torrent would come out and chat. Prime site for a development I fear!

The girl in the ferreteria told us that the area where they are building the posh stone wall opposite the eroski, is going to be a coach park and picnic area to tie in with the development of the pond area

I know Smiddy, but as i said it is ALL only rumours. I guess only time will tell, i am just trying to keep you all informed about what is being debated amongst the "local" population, and that includes all the nationalities that live here.

I had heard that they were moving the Policia from the health centre in to the school and also the Library. The playground are was to be parking but for the market!! wonderful chinese whispers.
The area opposite Eroski I heard was to be planted with trees.

Yes exactly Joanne and i don't think the businesses in and around the square would be too pleased to have it moved either. Lets just hope that it is only a rumour .

The market in the square is a tourist attraction, they wouldn't be daft enough to remove a popular tourist attraction from a popular tourist resort. Would they? Now stop laughing at the back
