Now negotiating with insurance for a refund......
Our week in July could be under threat - I'm now on the list for an 'urgent' operation.

p.s. DO make sure your travel insurance is in place, and you have declared everything that may affect your cover.

Do take out the insurance. A few years ago my wife got the insurance just the day before our holiday, despite my saying don't bother everything will be ok.
Yep you guessed it I was taken ill and spent a week in hospital in menorca.

I take great satisfaction that I have nudged someone to do the right thing. Hope you don't have to claim

See Martin Lewis about late travel insurance...... at moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/cheap-travel-insurance.

Declare everything. Leave them no wriggle room to get out of paying up!.

The no fly form my GP has to fill in (£30), is 6 A4 pages with questions about my medical history going back to - I exaggerate - my childhood suspected diphtheria.

Also don't forget your FREE EHIC card - see Lewis.

I always leave it last minute, not ideal but always working hard.

I feel old today as I had to use staysure as not many will cover the medical conditions I had to declare, the quote kept going up and up as I added things

Anyway it is paid for.

As it is Wednesday late afternoon and Saturday is getting closer I should get the suitcases out of the loft and think about finding some clothes as my wife's pile of holiday stuff is increasing and all I have ready are an Anker Soundcore Boost bluetooth speaker, a TP-link Wi-Fi extender and my laptop and charger and my Monzo and Revolut cards loaded and ready to spend.

Her packing: "I'm not sure I'm going to fit everything into my case"

Me: "I'll pack more clothes to stop my gadgets from rattling around in my case"
